McGinn is not and never has been a ball playing midfielder. He’s all hustle and bustle and in my opinion and is best running past the forward or at least playing around him. He’s capable at this level but not where he’s being asked to play now.

He's a championship player. This is his 4th season in the top flight now and he's only looked decent for around 6 months of it.

A championship player that had various pundits and former players trying to arrange a £50-60m move to Man Utd 18 months ago?

That was madness and I’d have snapped their hands off. Sourness was still banging on about it at the start of this season.

The know-nothing, Sun-loving throbber.

£50/60m lol that's paper talk. I really really wouldn't believe the rumour mill of Robbie Savage and Talksport. The fact is he wasn't sold for that amount of money. He's still here, stinking the place out and the most anyone has ever paid for him is £2.5m.

McGinn is out of form but at times has been a fantastic player for us.

It's reasonable to criticise how he's playing in our current set up, but there's no need to rewrite history for a player who has given so much to the club.

He's had a few good games, but for the last year or so, other than the odd game, he's been consistently poor.  Palace away last seaosn he was great, other than that it's hard to recall a game where he was anything other than bang ordinary, and for most of the time he's just been really bad, including Monday night against the worst side in the league.

It just feels like it’s been a very long time since he’s been consistent, a very long time. He’s one of those players that we loved and made such a difference to us at the time, but now I wouldn’t really worry if he got injured or left. It’s the performances for Scotland that give us the hope that he might get back to his best (perhaps)

Agree totally. He's been great overall for the money we paid. Hopefully he'll come good again and I think he will.

Again this is missing the point, all I was saying is that those rumours existed and persisted for a long time, if he was a "championship player" those people wouldn't have been creating that link.

Not being bothered if a player gets injured just because you don't think he's good enough anymore is a bit naff really.

Picking him up on that is a bit naff really, he clearly means it leads to McGinn not getting selected rather than being indifferent to his suffering.

Not its not. I'd rather he either plays his way back into form or get dropped. I wouldn't want anyone to get injured.  We've enough players out as it is.

He didn't say he wanted anyone injured, bloody hell. You might read it better if you get down off your high horse

He said he wouldnt worry if he got injured. Still a bit naff though. I get what he's trying to say as he's not going to be dropped by the look of it but still, I'd rather we have the old McGinn back. There's still a very good player there.

I think he could still be a very good player for us, fully fit, motivated and in the right set up.
I don’t see any of the above right now though.

I'd sacrifice both my bollocks and replace them with scotch eggs for him to be dropped.
