I don't think it is humanly possible to maintain his non-stop all-action style over a season.
Either he has to pace himself, or we need to rest him occasionally.

I'd actually look to give him a rest against Chelsea and have him back for Leicester - looks like he needs a break.  Go with Luiz, Marvellous, Conor and Jack.

I mentioned it in the Newcastle post match thread and it looked pretty obvious to me yesterday too, he needs a rest

A rest? Not for me.

He's one of our best players.

No he doesn't need any rest. He had plenty of that when playing for Scotland.

Keep him in, he’s been still playing well enough, just not as brilliant as he can.

His best run of form last season coincided with having an enforced rest after too many yellow cards and then coming off the bench at blues and storming round the place

He was poor yesterday I thought, offered little with or without the ball. Following on from average/poor performances v Wolves and Newcastle. Time for a break.

I’d still give him a 6 out 10 for yesterday, so I’d  keep him in. He wasn’t that bad and you know with him this will just change and he’ll be back to his best again. He’s had little dips before then suddenly he’s back charging all over the pitch and amongst the goals again.

Just go back to March, April this year and people were saying this, then he has a stormer and we were all glad he wasn’t benched.

He was benched v Birmingham. Came on and helped change the game.

It may be a coincidence but he seems to have been quieter since Jack moved position.

Both he and Freddy have been busy on the right side up against some more than decent attackers. For some strange reason teams have been targeting our right side, no idea why when it's much stronger defensively than our left. Still, not to worry.
