We really needed 2 DMs to deal with the pressure from Spurs with Grealish available as the outlet to retain possession, release the pressure and move into their half. There’s no way a team can sustain that kind of pressure when the ball keeps coming back so quickly.

Dean needed Marvellous and Doug on the pitch today.  Not sure where the Marvellous one was.

He will play a major role this season. As will Doug. Long season mate.

He's a great player and one we can be proud of. It feels like such a long time since we were able to say that about a few players in the squad doesn't it?

Felt he went a bit AWOL second half along with the rest of the midfield but once again raised his game to yet another level over all.

United fans calling for McGinn to be signed after watching him against Spurs. They'd even like United to pay £70m if that what it takes! Another Yorke/ Young situation brewing?

Money talks - they're still a big draw, ask Harry Maguire

John McGinn said at the weekend “It has been a long journey for me to get here but I am finally here now and I don’t want to leave. I want to stay here, and I want to stay here with Villa”.

I don't see this, he's with a group of lads he likes at a club that loves him, playing in one of the best leagues in the world and earning more money that he's ever earned in his life.

Don't think he's gonna have his beautiful little head turned just yet.

The imminent 50 million pound bid never materialised because it was bollocks printed in (you guessed it) the s*n anyway.

A good game for Longstaff next week and the same papers and twitter glory hunters will be carping on about him instead.

Agreed, if we stay up and keep progressing he'll be with us for a least two more seasons.
