In the  worst financial situation in our history we told Tottenham to fcuk off about signing Grealish. No way on earth are we letting who the fcuk are man united sign the best player we’ve had for the last 8 seasons.

Whilst really important to strengthen the side, also equally important to retain and reward those who got us here!  A la Hourihane!  Bumper 5 year contract for SJM please.  I am so looking forward to seeing SJM, Jack and Douglas in the centre of the park.

I agree let's tie SJM down to a new long term contract it makes sense.

I know there’s a lot of contract work going on but this was talked about a long time ago (approaching 8 weeks from Wembley). Needs urgently sorting

Not really. He's only a year into his present one.

Why? We can’t just rely on him and he needs competition too. I want us to play different styles and there will be times when he doesn’t start he will be massively effective coming of the bench late in games. I still remember the first time I saw Ronaldo on the bench for Man U. A bloke who’s scored 50 or so in a season being rotated. If it’s good enough for the biggest clubs out there to rotate their star players then we absolutely need to have the squad depth to do the same. For years our bench has been a huge drop off in quality to our first team. It won’t be anymore.

Absolutely.  SJM has to up and maintain his level of involvement and energy to be a starter.  That's the way it has to be. Hourihane and Green will be the peripheral players in the squad.

We also know too well that sjm tends to fracture the odd rule here and there that ultimately leads to suspensions.  This could be quite a problem for him in the PL and it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

He's realising that he's got to up his game to stay in the side. Which is as it should be.
Can only be good for the team.
