Do cards obtained in the regular season apply in the playoffs?

From the interpretation of the FA rules, it is believed that they don't as it states that cumulative bookings do not apply in play off games:
Quote
Number of cautions    Cut-off date [inclusive]
Five [Premier League]    Following 19 league fixtures
Five [EFL]    Following 19 league fixtures
Five [National League]    Following 23 league fixtures
10 [Premier League    Following 32 league fixtures
10 [EFL]    Following 37 league fixtures
10 [National League]    Following 37 league fixtures
15 [All leagues]    *End of the season**
The remaining competitions will carry suspensions in those competitions only when a player has received two yellow cards in that competition.
N.B. Discipline in the EFL Trophy is competition specific and remains unchanged from last season.
* The FA Women’s Super League does not have cut-off dates. Automatic suspensions for players accumulating 5, 10, 15 cautions etc. will take effect at any stage during the season.
** This does not apply to play-off matches.

If that is correct, then his current bookings will not rollover into playoffs, however he could miss playoff games if he hits the 15 match quota within the next 4 games. That's my understanding of it anyway.

A question for the elder Villa folk on here:

I'm 43, my first game at VP was in 1989. I've simply never seen a Villa player like McGinn, what, so, ever.

Does he have any similarities to players of past?

I'm struggling to think of anyone with a better engine.  Frank Carrodus, Des Bremner, Bruce Rioch all had superb engines as did Sid Cowans but this lad seems to me to be ahead of them.  It's all relative of course, different era's, different training methods, eating habits, pitches etc.  SJM has the abilty to go a very long way in this game, I just hope it's with us.

Hi kieron.  Alex Cropley was good, and Sid of course and Des Bremner.  Georgie Boateng had the same sort of engine, Gaz Baz had the same sort of arse but (holds nose) Platty was the closest IMO to being the overall driving force JMG is.

Des Bremner comes close.

Reminds me of Milner with Barrys arse...but he's got a unique head down style and never seen a player like him.

He is unique. A mixture of Bremner, Barry and Milner.

Milner had a similarly good engine, but he didn't have the terrier-like tenacity that McGinn has.  To quote KRS above, the closest players would be Barry and Milner, with a touch of Ian Taylor possibly.  They were all better than McGinn in some ways (Milner and Taylor goal scoring and tackling, Barry passing) but none of them had his sheer dynamism.  I think he can only get better as well.  Hopefully if we go up, we'll keep him and Grealish, and add a quality midfield general type to complement them.

He will be at home in the Premier League, hopefully with us or giving us £25m to play with.

I love him.

We all love McGinn but bear in mind all of those Villa legends did it in the PL or at least at the top level of game in their generation. A much higher standard and like Jack I would like to see if they are able to replicate and elevate their game at a higher level.

Absolutely. That would only buy one of the McGinn twins.
