Far too deep yesterday to influence the game

We’ve only got two really good midfielders he’s one of them and the other didn’t play yesterday so he was always going to be up against it

I don’t actually mind him in a deeper role as long as Bolasie and el Ghazi are carrying a threat but they didn’t yesterday.

He was neutrailised  yestereday, ineffective and couldnt influence anything if truth be told.

He was playing in as deep lying a position as I’ve seen him. He did OK tackling back and starting moves but at the cost of his threat further up the pitch. I wouldn’t say he was neutralised necessarily but like a lot of other players he suffered from jack not keeping 2 of their players occupied.

we should be prepared to resist bids in the summer, I think. Bruce's best permanent signing, IMO.

Bruce - McGinn
Lambert - Benteke

both left us very nice parting gifts if not a lot else

Maybe if we don't get promoted that might happen but I don't think it's worth worrying about too much at the moment.

Seem to remember his quotes at the time didn't exactly make it sound like he'd scouted or chosen McGinn. "The owners want us to work with younger, hungrier players" was the gist.

I doubt Bruce had a clue about who McGinn was until we signed him

I'm not a fan of Bruce but I think it's unfair to assume that he knew nothing of McGinn, there's no real evidence to back that up.

Absolutely.  For all the valid criticisms re style and not achieving what he should have, it's pretty churlish to make up (or assume) more stuff to kick him with.
