Whether you're keen on him or not, that was some performance from Super John McGinn.

In this form and with this manager I very much doubt anyone is not keen on him. In fact most that had doubted him, myself included, were probably gutted to do so. It’s so good to have him back to this level.

What a player!

Although there was question marks over the opposition, you could see the way he carried Scotland forward that he was still a player. Previous management of lets try forcing Luiz and McGinn to play "this way" and hope they gel does seem to be a major problem. (even under Smith).

I actually think Emery could have got Lampard and Gerrard playing well in the same team he seems that good.

He admitted himself on Sky that his form was rubbish earlier in the season. Now he’s back to his best.

He was brilliant tonight and has played well for a good number of weeks.  Great goal.

If there’s such thing as a Captain’s performance then that was it.

What a way to end a barren run. Absolute beauty of a goal. Maybe it was worth waiting for...

He also seems to retain respect from opposition players who are wary of engaging him physically. That run of his, head ducked is almost as innovative as his arse shuffle. It completely bamboozled opponents and usually means he can drive us up the field with the ball.

Our SJM is back and in style.

Sir Alex was right with his 50 million valuation.

He has never changed as a player since the day he joined. He just needs a good gaffer.

And he was far too generous to the previous manager tonight.

Maybe he just needed a good manager to get him going again. He has improved significantly and took his goal really well, although Mudryk jumping out of the way instead of blocking, was a welcome help. 🙂

I was due a small slice. It is, and it's delicious.

And I have to disagree that he's back to his best: I think he's playing at a level above anything he's shown us before. For weeks if not months now he's been one of the best players in the division.

Yes, I thought he was done. He's proved me wrong, joining the back of a very long queue.
