I'm interested to see where 'Captain' McGinn stands in the wake of his demotion and lack of playing time against Leicester.
Since he was not involved in the loss to Leicester and would be ideal for shackling our Jack* against Man City, I'm keeping an eye on whether he will be included against Man City. Ginny would certainly work deployed on the right, it would be a really strong move to match him there against Grealish*.

*I do wonder if Grealish may have an agreement where he's either asked if he wants to play versus us anytime he has to play. Since he moved he doesn't play or gets limited minutes against Villa
I think a clause wouldn't be the case but an agreement on his suitable head space as it's a lot playing against us.

Honestly Footy, please at least attempt to understand the point that McGinn was just back from injury. There's really nothing more to it than that. I can see him him coming in against Man City if he's fit enough, because Jacob Ramsey has been worse than useless recently.

Ok. Well I thought given how the game was McGinn may have been used as substitution. Emery called a bluff there as in his presser he said not in my mind for starting eleven but "I'm going to use him if we need him as John McGinn is very important to us"

No.

1) As if Pep Guardiola would ever agree to a clause like that
2) He doesn't play much against anybody

It would be nice though wouldn't it, having a job where your gaffer rings up the night before and tells you that it's up to you whether you turn up the next day or not, he'll pay you either way :-)

Not a clause more an agreement.
Don't forget Deano asked players if they were ok to play again.
Players get asked a lot more about if they are ok to play than the MON days.
There's welfare  checks and fitness checks.
Though some managers disagreed or disregard the fitness data and don't listen to the sport science.

I think it's clear Emery doesn't seem him as an option in the (somewhat) holding two any more, with the Donk as first reserve. That's a positive.

Think he will start v Man City and put the conspiracy theory to bed.

In fairness my job is like that
But then I am self employed

I do think we need McGinn back in the team. He adds energy that is lacking when he is not there and helps to press the opposition back. He has played well under Emery so far.

The obvious thing would be to replace Ramsey, who's been below par.

I think McGinn is actually more suited to the role than anyone else we have at the moment so I think we'll improve with him back (if he's fit). Didn't think I'd ever say that.

There you go.

Keep the wee fellah away from our final third and let him loose when the situation merits.

Hopefully he'll get involved in a spat with Guardiola where he rinses him over dressing like a tech startup bro, or how he looks like an actual bellend in a polar neck jumper
