Groundshare like Bayern and 1860 did, and then when Blose end up in League 2, do what Bayern did and buyout their tiny rivals, so that they can move to a 15,000 capacity stadium.

I’m all in favour of moving. As historic as Villa Park is, it’s too small, it’s in a shit area, it’s crap to get away from, and most of the stands and facilities are well out of date.

I’m surprised at how quickly I’ve gone from being dead against it to feeling the same way.

This season is also the first time I think I’ve found the ’matchday experience’ (not my words Lynne) a bit of pain in the arse.

I see absolutely no conceivable reason why on earth we'd ground share and I'm perplexed every brief time it is mentioned.

If there is a new ground at all it would be built on the same site but I think much more likely is planned extension of existing ground.

We’ve never been a Birmingham club and whatever the owners are they are not historically illiterate.

From what I can on other fora the vast majority are against any move and I think that’s absolutely the right sentiment from Villa supporters.

Whats more likely?
A move, or rebuild of Villa Park?

Most Villa fans I speak to are similarly against moving. I also think the ‘shit area’ argument is irrelevant, do we really think we’re going to get a new site in a more desirable place? That can compete with proximity to a park, historic stately home and thousand year old church and that has better transport links.

Exactly right

If hypothetically we were still in Perry Barr and this conversation was happening there would be lads posting screengrabs from google maps and circling the present site of Villa Park and saying 'build it there, it has rail, road, the right size and is in Aston!

The transport links could be improved if there was the will to do this. And probably a lot easier than finding and building in a new location
The issue is the site and we there it has the capacity to develop into a modern high capacity  stadium.

That's absolutely fine and I understand that sentiment.  Those same fans should be asked though whether they want to see the club finally try and take that step into the elite tier of English and European football and how they think that can achieved by staying at the current site.

An emphatic yes for me. If Liverpool can do it we can do it. We are blessed with space behind the North Stand. And if we have the kind of money you need for an entire new build then we have the money we need to buy property behind Witton Lane.

I love passing the ground on the motorway. It just stands out proud. It's a real statement location in so many ways - I do not get this idea we have to move to compete.

I am dead against moving, probably because I was born on Fentham Road in Aston and you can see the stadium from the house.  Completely biased view, but I have to move with the times and if we do move, so be it.  We will always have our roots and will be called Aston Villa.

Is this new investment from Altiros (or whatever they’re called) or confirmation of what was agreed in principle about 6-months ago.
