There seems to be a podcast version so will listen to that while "working" tomorrow.

At the bottom of this page if that's of interest to anyone.

The preview said that Xia is in jail - is that true?

This is pretty grim viewing so far. None of it is a surprise, but it's shocking to see how easy it all is. The rich in this country can simply be a mafia if they choose to, and the law doesn't care.

Isn’t it ever? It’s a never ending trail of deceit.

They’ve basically said we will never know where the money came from to buy Aston Villa.

Seems like he did six months but isn't now, though I can't find anything definitive. He hasn't Tweeted for over a year...

The Villa sale looks to have been one of the most egregious. I'd strongly recommend watching it if it's available on catch-up/YouTube etc. This Samuelson appears to be either a crook, a liar or both (it can't be neither). I think this was hinted at when his involvement was mentioned at the time.

That we got ourselves into such a mess leaves big questions for the likes of the Shunammite, Wyness et al. I'm almost starting to warm to Jack Grealish again after all that.

It also possibly explains Mervyn King's and that other bloke's sudden departures (my timelines maybe a little fucked here though).

Christ, that was a worrying watch - definitely worth catching up on if you haven’t seen it. The levels of deceit that these lot went to in order to bend the rules is staggering. Hopefully they’ll never get near another club again. Shocking.

It makes a mockery of the so called fit & proper ownership checks. As in most walks of life, if you grease enough palms they all look the other way.

We are so lucky that our club wasn’t destroyed by these people & that we came out of it with the owners we now have.

Apologies if already mentioned elsewhere, but there’s a programme on Al Jazeera tonight at 9pm “The men who sell football”.

I’m hearing Xia is in it and doesn’t come out well. We shall see!

Channel 513 on SKY.
Thanks for the heads up on this. Got it recorded on Sky and sounds like essential viewing.

Randy Lerner was an absolute sack of crap to even put the club at risk like that. Sad excuse for a man.

The “fit and proper” test is a complete sham, and there needs to be more accountability at the higher levels for letting these things occur.

F Tony.
