When you've had Macron, absolutely anything is an improvement.

Seems a really good idea and as a really big plus, I have just done a quick google search and as far as I can see Luke and Michael Rubin (fanatics owner) don't seem to go big game hunting in there spare time.

Campaign for Plain English to translate the pretentious marketing spiel please.

We've signed Messi on a pre-contract for next season and Champion's League football is guaranteed for the year after. I think that is what it says, anyway.

Sorted.

As both retail partner and kit manufacturer, Fanatics will operate a full vertical-manufacturing model, meaning the new kit, bearing the LUKE 1977 brand logo, will be managed by a single company from production to point-of-sale. This means fan merchandise enjoys faster speed-to-market in an increasingly on-demand world.

So presumably the savings in 3rd party costs will be passed to the fans?

I reckon a record score in Bullshit Bingo for that press release.

Nice to see the Villa doing something a little different to other clubs, cutting the big labels out of the process, as it always felt that we got a fairly poor service from them in the past.

From a personal level, I'm reading this as "move along fella, you're too old and fat to wear a replica sports shirt".

Let's hope we're not just a tad naive about the fact he's a Villa fan.

He's a bloke and he designs stuff. People will still love it or hate it; who he supports isn't really relevant.

I think the speed-to-market has a lot to say - e.g. when we get to the FA Cup final next season, we will be able to supply all our new supporters with merchandise, and without committing in May/June how many to stock for x-mas sales.

Pretty much this.

No, he's Walsall's Gianni Versace.  Wait til you see the away kit

Not really, if you asked most people on here, or any other fan site, what a villa kit should look like you'd get fairly similar answers:

proper claret body (not some pinky purple)
blue sleeves
white shorts
and a disagreement over the socks (blue for me)

Given he's a fan he'll know those 'rules'.  That doesn't mean he'll feel obliged to follow them but if he chooses not to it it won't be through ignorance, that's the real difference.

Never heard of either. I thought Fanatics was just the US equivalent of JDsports.
