The perceived lack of atmosphere that QV keeps going on and on and on about can also be attributed to the acoustics in the stadium depending upon where the listener is located.
It's been the same ever since the holte got rebuilt. The fact that it's two tier and fecking huge means a lot of the singing dissipates into the ether. The answer is quite simple. The main bulk of the singing needs to come from the lower holte a where they would be more audible and more visible. But I think that's unlikely due to the amount of people who've had their seats in the lower holte for a long time.

Sorry. I'll try harder in future.
Sorry if you took that personal. I'm only saying that the bulk of the singing coming from the back of the holte gets lost due to the two tiered design. If they all congregated in the lower holte it would make a big difference. Just pointing out the obvious really in reply to people questioning why the atmosphere is sometimes a bit dull.

By no means a vintage performance very wasteful with our possession at times. Grealish was superb, Snodgrass awful but he kept trying, Whelan very solid, Onomah very good and despite some of the criticism on here I thought Kodjia played well considering he was only going to be fit enough for about 60 minutes. Thought Grabban was very useful as well. Job done, and attention turns to Cardiff and Fulham today.
Spot on that's exactly how I viewed things last night - nice to walk away from Villa Park feeling like you got your money's worth - Hogan aside who just does not look interested.
I thought the atmosphere was good - Only downer on the night was the journey to and from B6 from the North West - the M6 is an absolute joke

I'm not sure about Hogan not being interested. His goal against Reading suggests he is.

I agree with this. I don't think his effort can be questioned. It's our style of play that doesn't suit his game. I think he would of scored20 plus in the wolves team this year.

Don’t worry. I’m pathologically incapable of taking anything seriously.

I'm surrounded by way more old gits with dodgy knees in L9 now than I ever was in A4.

Well, maybe not quite, but it ain't far off.

I do wonder about the communication between WM Railways and the Club, surely some dialogue about tickets sales and expected crowd may lead to them putting on a suitable amount of trains. The 10.15 northward has three carriages and was ridiculously overcrowded, three NS bound trains came the other way whilst I was on the other platform.

Not a criticism of Villa obv.

We keep asking, they keep ignoring.

I hoped ‘new brooms’ and all that.

I had a ball. Pints in the Bartons, followed by a Pad Thai. Few gifts for the kids from the club shop, followed by a routine win. More pints on Broad Street, washed down with a kebab accompanied by old school hard house at jet engine level decibels  - which was unexpected! I thought Onomah was game. Whelan was solid. Grabban and Grealish worked well together. Jedi did his job well. Special mention for Snoddy who worked his bollix off, defending from the front for the last 15 mins. They all played well, to be fair. Can't wait to return.

I'm going over old ground here so apologies for that, but for years and whoever was in charge of both railways and club, there's been no co-operation. I know we've tried to get some sort of matchday discounted travel but it's never got off the ground. As one Villa staff member said, "Concerts and rugby World Cup, they'll put extra trains on. Villa matches and they don't want to know."

I live within walking distance of the ground and as such I'm oblivious of this situation. How the hell has this been allowed to go on by the club, and the train operators. Surely extra trains makes sense all round from a commercial and safety point of view? Why aren't the club onto this?

The club have tried. It's the train companies that don't want to know.

isn’t this what the Brigada guys were trying to do? - start a singing colony in the LHolte? What happened to that?

I wonder if an official approach to Tory Boy Street might have any impact?

Aren't you a Manics fan?  You've had years to learn to scream like James Dean B. so, like, get to it.
