I'm annoyed not just because of the loss, but because the game against Cardiff would have been one of the biggest games we've played in years. I was really looking forward to going into that needing a win. Now, I don't care. Because it doesn't matter.
I kind of feel sorry for Hogan - if we don't go up he'll be a big scapegoat for the goals that could have gotten us there, when really it's management shortcomings. Having said that, I still don't want him in a Villa team, as I'm not quite sure what we get out of playing him.
only it does - we still need points and we've simply got to stop the rot.
Play-offs not guaranteed. Not while Bruce continues in charge.
Hogan is the sort of player we've seen down the Villa a hundred times before. Seemingly bought for no other reason than he was doing pretty well for a club we consider to be our interiors and therefore assumed would automatically thrive in the illustrious surroundings of Villa Park. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that and, more often than not, said player proves to have been over-achieving at his previous club and what's more becomes a scapegoat.
This type of performance has become too frequent recently, Q.P.R, Bolton, Hull and today. Just hope Fulham catch Cardiff as I don't want to face them in the P.O.
