Is he any good up front?

No but he's a triple score in SoccerScrabble.

More realistically, can he play right back?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole basis of FFP, as I haven't inspected the ground rules for same, but surely - *surely* - if we're not allowed to buy players or renew expensive contracts then we shouldn't be looking to purchase struggling clubs/entities overseas.

I read a while ago that spending on stadium, infrastructure or the academy doesn’t affect FFP so, if that’s true, maybe this kind of spending is exempt too.

It won't be Villa buying them, it will be the holding company which owns us, ie Recon, so FFP won't come in to it - they can do what they like with their money once they've found it down the back of the sofa

Indeed. See my second post above. If indeed Recon are the bidders, it's being reported very irresponsibly.

Reflecting more on this I'm sure the loophole is that 'we' aren't formally interested in purchasing anyone, it will be under RECON group and they can do what they like within the scope of other parameters/regulations, but still being reported that it's Aston Villa doing the purchasing. If true, very strange.

What’s the swizz here then? Is it some sort of FFP accounting dodge? A way of spreading our spending across continents and loan backs etc......

does that include Formby? The Vikings stopped off here before pillaging Liverpool and causing five Krone worth of damage
