Maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole basis of FFP, as I haven't inspected the ground rules for same, but surely - *surely* - if we're not allowed to buy players or renew expensive contracts then we shouldn't be looking to purchase struggling clubs/entities overseas.

It does seem far fetched Ill admit.Lyngby are a mid sized (By Danish standards) ,ever present in the top league club.

Reflecting more on this I'm sure the loophole is that 'we' aren't formally interested in purchasing anyone, it will be under RECON group and they can do what they like within the scope of other parameters/regulations, but still being reported that it's Aston Villa doing the purchasing. If true, very strange.

They are in financial trouble so this might be a way to help resolve that.

Lyngby are massively in the shit financially. You could probably buy them for a nominal fee if you took on the debts as a going concern. The media here say it's Brighton.

Just checked another media source that says it's not Brighton, but another unnamed PL club.

He is a keeper. It was a typo. We are actually buying 'Lyngby GK'.

I've found an article on BT (equivalent to The Scum) quoting unnamed sources "close to the club" that we're supposedly bidding.

The same article appears to be the source for all the other articles quoting an unnamed PL club as also being interested.

The whole thing with Lyngby is a mess with the players having not been paid for a couple of months and their contracts ready to be annulled tomorrow at midnight if they've not been paid making them free agents.

Don't know enough to comment really, but they're 3rd bottom and struggling as much on the pitch as off it.

I read a while ago that spending on stadium, infrastructure or the academy doesn’t affect FFP so, if that’s true, maybe this kind of spending is exempt too.
