The first goal was excellent football.

It was brilliant.
Agree

Against Burton Albion.
Err...The 40 yard pass by Snodgrass to put Adomah through was brilliant regardless of calibre of opposition. Accuracy vision and execution was perfect.
So the ability to complete successfull passes has nothing to do with the quality of the opposition.
Yawn

Moaning about a good goal after winning and making it 6 wins in a row. Yawn.
So when did I moan, exactly?

Huge selection next Sunday. I think Jedinak will need to come in maybe next to BB, Houihane's form is a worry.
Why go we need to play two DMs against bottom half table opposition?

Other options, Whelan, Tuanzebe ? Onomah is off form, Lansbury can't make the match day 18.

Jedi was superb against them last season btw.

I would say this was quite high on the moaning front:

I went today.
So this is it, the ends justify the means.
No one cares, it’s 6 in a row.
I hate Bruceball.

It seems odd that you would acknowledge a good goal, but feel the need to denigrate it at the same time.

It’s fairly obvious. It didn’t sound like an amazing performance today but we won and scored three goals, cheer up.

Sort of out of context as the moaning acusation was about the goal.
Hands up though, I was hoping for a more convincing performance than I saw today against limited opposition with injury problems.
I am not prepared to do The empowers new clothes thing just because Of results.

No relation sadly. My moniker is in tribute to Fred, the late and legendary Nuneaton Borough goalie who was my first footballing hero before I saw the light and watched Brian Little,  Sid , Gary Shaw, BFRs teams, God, Ian Taylor, Yorkie etc. etc.....

It seems odd that people want to gloss over a mediocre performance against poor opposition because of one decent pass.
Did not take any5hing away from my enjoyment of seeing my team score a good goal ffs.

Btw apologies for trying to be a smart arse. "What difference does it make" is the title of a Smiths song for those of you who are non- fans  :)

Given we've shat the bed against Peterborough and Brentford in the last six weeks or so, I'll take a glorious passing move leading to a goal against pretty much anybody, thanks.

Pretty much everyone has said we were poor for a lot of the game so not sure there's much being glossed over.

Burton played pretty decently, and at least tried to move it around at pace on the floor.

We seemed a bit slow at times, but when we knock it around, and Grealish gets on the ball, we can be enjoyable to watch. Adomah needed replacing, though got his goal, so well done to him.

Teams are not just going to roll over and die when they come to Villa Park, and today we've had to grind out a good win, which all the best teams have to do at times. For all their great football, Man City have, more than once this season, had to grind out 2-1 and 1-0 victories. Some of which came in the last few minutes of stoppage time.

It's a another win, and although cliche, it becomes a habit. And a damn good one. Their fans may be getting carried away by their recent upturn in form, but Blues will be well aware that they're coming to play a team on a 6 game winning run, and full of confidence.

I had a feeling watching today's game, that we didn't really get out of first gear that often, and didn't really need to. I think our players have confidence in the knowledge that we are a decent team and are damn hard to beat now.

Long may it continue.

Another good one was Hendrie at Chelsea in 1997...

Dec '98, 2-1 defeat?
