This can be the only place in the world where we win 6 games in a row and we are shitting ourselves because we are playing Blues. The whole league are worried about playing us but we are still not happy. I think that says more about us as fans than the team. FFS have a bit of faith.
No. The concern is that whilst the first 11 looks okay, the options off the bench were shit. We should have had a much more positive bench selection to offer alternatives to the starting 11.
Too cautious, which meant we were defending the lead rather than building on it.

I didn’t see the game, by the way, so feel free to disagree!

Thanks from Rome. That Grealish volley was sweet.

I've just watched Mark Williams beat Judd Trump 6 - 1 non of you would have predicted that. I dare say most of you would say Trump is the better player. Well he definitely makes more entertaining shots but the score suggests Williams is the far better player. If you take things dor granted you get walloped. Just saying like with the unwashed making an appearance next week. We will make the more entertaining play but ask Trump how he feels now. Being a fancy Dan.

I didn't think we played as poorly as has been said. Burton were nothing special but I'll give them their due, they moved the ball rather than just hoofing it. However, that scoreline was far more flattering to them than the win was to us. I cannot stand Championship officials - the team today couldn't wait to give brave little Burton everything, and it disrupted any kind of rhythm we tried to establish. I'm sick of referees subconsciously trying to even up their incompetence.

Literally just got back in cos trains heading south from New Street were either cancelled or delayed today.

First ten mins i thought we were a bit dozy and Burton looked lively.  Once we got going - and i think some of the midfield play and interchanging from Snodgrass and Grealish in particular was very good - we were comfortable. At 2-0 we were cruising until the ref didnt give us a penalty when Grealish brought down, Burton went right up the other end and scored. Once Jack got the third - great volley - i thought Burton were lucky to grab their second, the ball deflected to their striker who couldnt miss. The game reminded me of Norwich earlier in the year, we were well on top but let in two daft goals to make it look a closer game than it was.
The ref was shocking. Crowd was quite quiet at times but in good voice when we scored or let the ref know what we thought of him. Burton's support was pathetic. As for individuals, Grealish was excellent, Hogan was Dean Saunders-ish the way he chased everything, he worked his nuts off. Bjarnson had a mixed game, goal saving challenge early on but a couple of other times he was sloppy. Johnstone really didnt have anything to do other than pick the ball out of his net twice, Hutton was excellent and we've won another game so why there were so many unhappy Villa fans on the Witton-New Street  train after the game i do not know.

I went today.
So this is it, the ends justify the means.
No one cares, it’s 6 in a row.
I hate Bruceball.

Terry was ball watching for their third but Hutton should have been covering, was nervous about this game because no matter how good the coach players will tend to drop their effort when facing perceived weak opposition, we got the points that's what matters and he should have them up and about for next week.

So did I. I can't see how anyone could have watched us much over the last few years and be angered by what they saw today.

Sorry, to use the word "hate" I'd assumed a level of anger.

Haven't you seen the fucking dross we've watched for years now? Today we had a goal scored from a lovely move followed by a slide rule pass, a nicely floated cross to the far post, and a superbly taken volley.

Most of the last six or seven years, to see three goals that decent you'd have need to attend an entire season's worth of games.

Saying the end justifies the means suggests we're some sort of horrible Pulis tyle team, which we clearly are not.
