Article in the Mail by a journalist who covers Bournemouth who seems to think he needs to play alongside a big player to get the best out of him goals wise. Not sure if that was the case at Sunderland? Anyone know if they played 2 up front?

Yes he played up front with Niall Quinn.

Well no wonder he scored loads. My Gran would be banging them in left right and centre with Quinn as a striking partner in this division ;-) Did you ever see that match he scored and then went in goal against Derby? Classic.
And on the subject I didn't know he knocked Steve McMahon out in a fight on a drunken night out and that's where his Disco Pants song came from

He's 30? Send him back when we get promoted. I wonder what the loan fee is, a million and two more if we get promoted?
I would have thought they are fairly happy to get his wages covered.  I wouldn't imagine any fee would have been significant given our FFP position.

At least 3 or 4 30 yard plus tap ins from what I saw.....

Dougal, only some of the goals were tap-ins. Some of them were just far away.

More of this kind of thing.

I dunno, but I was at that match when he tripped over a worm to win a penalty against us the cheating bastard.

Pleased to get him in, I think it gives us a little extra insurance and an option off the bench.

I'm prepared to let that slide now that he knocked out Steve McMahon - joking aside I've warmed to him over the years as he seems like a decent bloke (saying that I can't remember the match - which one was it?) I do remember that City team throwing the match when we were going for the title against their neighbours when their fans even had banners at Villa Park wishing us luck. Good luck from the City of Manchester I think it read.

Another player I know nothing about. In all honesty I hope he doesn't make a single appearance for us as it will mean the attack we have remain injury free and will be doing the business.

Decent loan signing for me. He'll be useful. Hogan has hit a bit of form but Davis has faded and that's it so we needed one more really for the run in. It covers our bases. We're in good form. We're working hard, nicking results and we're also dominating some games here and there too which is nice. I'm quite happy with the two signings. I didn't think we needed too much (provided a bit more luck with injuries). If he scores a few goals which take us up, all the better. I don't think he's Prem quality but may be alright as a back up next season. He's got good physical attributes. If JK gets back full fit, he'll be the one who could potentially make the step up.

He's a stop gap and given that fact he has decent credentials at this level. Do I think he'll be in the squad in August? No, but he'll have hopefully served his purpose by then.

I hope he is not another Grant Holt.

I hope he is not another Grant Holt.

Check his Valentine's arrangements in case he has booked a candle lit meal for two at Greggs (I am not joking about that being a real thing either).

Why would he be anything like Holt? He’s scored 12 goals this season, in this division for one of the worst teams in the division. We’ll create way more chances for him when he plays and he brings another type of attacking dimension to what we have with Hogan or Davis.

Allow me..

Looks like he's played for everyone...

Does have an eye for goal and one of those players who can make a goal out of nothing.
