We learned a lot from Hogan's youtube video - he basically scored loads via through balls.

This guy seem to be just a tap-in merchant and a lot of the goals are where he beat (?) the offside trap that maybe down to him or the crap defending.

So he's not a something out of nothing type like Kodija, but obviously we were never likely to land a striker of that calibre.

He is simply a guy in the box to score tap-ins or take advantage of bad defending.

As said earlier in thread, nothing special but a logical and 'on-par' signing for us should Hogan get injured, may even be better replacement.

Most certainly enhances our promotion hopes.

At least 3 or 4 30 yard plus tap ins from what I saw.....

Dougal, only some of the goals were tap-ins. Some of them were just far away.

Is that all? Just a fella that makes defenders nervous with his runs and pulls them out of position. Plus being hungry in the box. What are you looking for in a striker?

He is still pining after Stern John.

They’ve just beaten Chelsea without him (Bournemouth).

But if his face didn’t fit, and it does here, and he’s good, Welcome Lewis!

Given Grabban's MO over the past few years, it appears to be more about others not fitting in with what he & his agent wants at any given time. He's certainly got talent; an eye for goal; and fits our need for another experienced striker: but I do question his attitude & whether or not he will fit the bill. Hopefully he'll take the latest opportunity he's been given & thrive playing for a big club challenging for promotion. Fingers crossed eh?

He can't get a new deal, or angle for a move as he's only here six months anyway, so there's no reason for any issues. Plus I'd imagine if he did play up he would be dispatched forthwith with a size 10 up his harris.

Loan seems a no brainier.
If his attitude isn’t up to scratch we don’t involve him.

Could always have him lodge with McCormack and they could get stuck behind the gates together.

I think this is a very astute deal. He looked very good against us earlier in the season, worked hard, held the ball up and ran the channels well.

On my limited views of him, well just that one game really, he looks like he has the potential to be a good mix of the best bits of the two players he will be competing against. He's more experienced and scores more than Davis, but has similar physical presence and work rate and yet he has the pace and goal threat of Hogan but gets involved in the build up play more often.

And if he plays up we can fuck him off back to Bournemouth quick sharp.

Didn't he score against us for Reading last season as well?

Article in the Mail by a journalist who covers Bournemouth who seems to think he needs to play alongside a big player to get the best out of him goals wise. Not sure if that was the case at Sunderland? Anyone know if they played 2 up front?

Looked at few Sunderland results and seems they played him up front alone in a 4141 formation so wasn't playing off another striker

Clearly no one was actually at these games and we were all on here endlessly arguing about Steve Bruce (wink).

Everything Counts by Depeche Mode for his song? (slight modification required):

The Grabben hands
Grabben all they can
All for themselves After all

The Grabben hands
Grabben all they can....

They started the season playing him and James Vaughan together and then rotated between them.

Cheers SoccerHQ. That's reassuring to know.
