While the nation is masturbating themselves into a frenzy over Wolves, we are going about our business quietly and effectively.

I’ve never known a club more punch-drunk at been top of the Championship in my life. Listening their fans the last couple of weeks has been brilliant, they’re not content with just winning this league, a good number of them actually think they’re gonna win the PL next season and then take on Europe. Unbelievable.

one of my closest mates is a Wolves fan, followed them home and away through the shite years and i'm happy for him and all that but like you say he has gone from years of telling me how shit they are, to how they need to expand their stadium to cope with their European football demands, with literally nothing in between.

Bit ropey in the first half, but better in the second and threatened to cut loose for a while after the second goal.  Thought Ipswich were very average and hardly created anything in open play, though they did whip in some very dangerous set pieces.

I thought Whelan had a good second half and the revival of Alan Hutton continues to amaze.  Very cold in B6 this afternoon!

They looked dangerous at set pieces but nothing more. Very poor in fact.

I only got nervous with them at corners. They could quite easily on another day have scored a couple. The fact they didn't is why we're sitting here looking smug with the three points. They didn't manage a single shot on target all day. For me, Bruce has instilled a hard working ethic to match anybody in this league. Despite being two down, right up to the last minute, Ipswich were chasing and fighting for everything, even though we rode out the last ten minutes by simply passing the ball around at will. We have to maintain that effort and we'll keep picking up the points.

Watching the Rags tonight, a very hard working performance and chances to win by a few goals against a team you would have expected to smash them. We just need to keep taking our chances and working hard and we should be "there or there abouts".

Out of interest, were you at the game or did you watch the highlights?

As I usually do, I watched the full 90 minutes. Why do you ask?

Literally just got back in, thought we were solid and completely in control - aside from their disallowed goal Ipswich were very poor. Whelan, Snodgrass, Onomah and Chester very good, Adomah sublime, Samba did well too when he came on aside from some very heavy clearances. Very pleasing and great to catch up with Frank on the way home too.

Caught the ‘highlights’ on the terrible Channel 5 programme, did the owner do some sort of lap of honour today?

Yup. Before the game he went round the pitch shaking hands with fans in the Lower Trinity, Holte and DE. Very well received by all

A very pleasing win! Another 3 points in our quest to catch 2nd place. Whelan was my motm and Albert's finishing was brilliant. Well done Villa!

I just wondered. Thanks for the reply.

27k there today.  Their highest attendance in 35 years was against us just over 30k.

Find it all a bit odd the owner of a football club doing such a thing. I suppose it’s his to do what he wants with it.

Wolves have won this league but any of about 6 teams are aiming for 2nd.
No Wolves have not won the League. Not in November anyway. I don’t think there are 6 teams for second place. Realistically  they any two of the current top 4.

Concerning that only AA is among the goals lately? Hourihane and Snodgrass not getting in good positions any more?

Doesn't concern me. Fully expect both of those to chip in a few. Don't need to at the moment.  Only time to worry is when we are not scoring 2 a game.

Cardiff, Sheff Utd, Us, Bristol City, Derby and anyone else who goes on a run will all be aiming for 2nd.

We could well be 2nd on Friday night. Just enjoy winning a few games for a change.
