Fair enough we will rock you has nothing to do with villa, but queen weren't associated with a team. I'd rather have that back, we used to sing we will fuck you to the away fans.

Roger Taylor is a Chelsea fan. As you would expect from someone born in Norfolk and brought up in Cornwall. I have heard comments about Freddie Mercury 'playing for the other team', but the name of the team never gets mentioned.

We could sing Dave Ismay's 'We're The Holte End', although the B-side which is a kind of clunky rap of the playing squad would sound a bit dated these days.

Sham 69, Hurry Up Harry.
"We're going down the pub!"

We sang that up the Holte at the last game prior to playing the Blues away around 1978 I think (We’re going down the Blues). The one where Andy Gray scored the only goal.

Probably a musical preference thing, but apart from "don't look back in anger", I don't know the words of the first or last lines? Embarrassed at 50.

First - Slip inside the eye of your mind
Last - At least not today

Littlest Hobo tune.......Canadian kids TV show
Another Anthem sorted

There’s a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road is where I’ll always be

Every stop I make, I’ll make a new friend
Can’t stay for long, just turn around and I’m gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I’ll want to settle down,
Until tomorrow, I’ll just keep moving on.

The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams:

“Maybe, there's a world where we won't have to run, and
Maybe, there's a time we'll call our own,
Living free in harmony and majesty,
Take me home,
Take me home.”

I didn't join it at Reading. Admittedly, I wasn't there. But I think actively not attending and remaining hundreds of miles away from where a song is being sung takes more commitment than just remaining quiet for a few minutes while it's played over a tannoy.

You say Tannoy when you mean "public address system". Tannoy is a brand name.

What has a Northern boy band go to do with Aston Villa, who represents the working class people of North Birmingham in the footballl stakes. I take pride in the fact that we have supporters from south of the City which is traditionally blues. Also pleased we have non brummie from other parts of the midlands,  fans hardly in difference in  non Brummie  Midlands.

Oasis have nothing to do with Aston Villa or North Birmingham working class identity, we look like mugs singing and playing that song, its like we dont have an identity and we are like sheep and have to latch on to something. We are being organised and engineered.

Aston, Witton, Perry Barr, Great Barr, Erdington, Falcon Lodge, Brookvale, Perry Common, Wyrely Birch, Bromford, Kingstanding, Pheasy etc thats whats about.

I can smell the strong unwashed smell of Small Heath.

come on if you are going to try and wind us up can you please at least try.

Can you announce on the 'tannoy' that I'm off to buy some 'Sellotape' and 'Durex'?

I like DLBIA, it resonates with the sentiment of the last 5 years of supporting Villa.
The last few Lerner seasons were dire, we were breaking all kinds of shitness records, the owner wanted out, the management and players didn't really care and the club was broken. The likes of small Heath and the baggies were crowing, and we were on the receiving end of many piss takes.
The away fans have consistently turned up throughout the dark times, and were the only real positive. The away win at Reading ended a run of not winning an away game for 2 years, that combined with Dr Xia and some feeling of stability at the club to stop the rot, meant that the time was now for looking forward not backwards.
When I sang it in the Holte on Sunday, I think of where we were to where we are now, and also how those smug Albion and small heathens have been shut up, and I really enjoy it.
I think when we are back in the PL, it won't mean as much, but right now it's two fingers up to the haters, we are on the up. It's like a song of defiance like singing "we'll keep the Lions flag flying high, coz Aston Villa will never die".
Personally I don't care what anyone else thinks, it works for me.

haters gonna hate. Some people just want to complain about anything and will find any old reason to do so.
