I'd be quite happy with that, though I draw the line at "If the Kids are United"...

A blue nose at work commented on this. He said we are pathetic singing along to DLBIA as they are mancs and we can't come up with anything original to compare to keep right on. Blissfully unaware or too stupid to know that is a Scottish folk song by Harry Lauder with no fucking connection to SHA other than a jock who once played for them sang it on a bus and it caught on with the fans. He's not blissfully unaware anymore but he is still stupid.

The club can't do right from wrong.

They tried the fans orientated "Bells are Ringing" a few years back and it was a complete failure.

Now they've tried the DLBIA which was picked up in impromptu fashion by the fans away at Reading (who all joined in with the chorus)  Yet people are still moaning.

I'm an Oasis fan so I'm slightly blinkered on this but I really don't care whether Oasis are from Birmingham or not. Loads of football chants stem from pop songs - nobody seems to care where those songs originate from. Everybody has their own opinion on what the song at the end of games should be - It is something that will always upset someone. I didn't see too many people not enjoying it on Sunday. I'm more than happy for it to stay and haven't seen one suggestion that is an improvement.

Bit of a sweeping statement there. I didn't join in at Reading and I haven't joined in since.
I very much doubt that I'm the only one

I didn't join it at Reading. Admittedly, I wasn't there. But I think actively not attending and remaining hundreds of miles away from where a song is being sung takes more commitment than just remaining quiet for a few minutes while it's played over a tannoy.

You do appear to be in a minority on the Holte End though.

Oasis are northern wankers. We need song from black sabbath.

You're a nose on a wind up aren't you?

Change the record pal, it's getting boring now.
noses rob handbags off the ramp
With that sentence you have proved beyond all doubt that your from these parts. That sentence would make no sense whatsoever to anyone else
your not north Birmingham as you would know how blues fans used to Rob hand bags of women on the ramp in the 80s.

All this talk about it being spontaneous and how the fans sing it because they like it, not because it's forced down their throat - how often do the fans sing it when it's not played over the tannoy?

They sing it every time it's played don't they?

Thy only play it when we win and every time I'm walking away from the ground, past the HE, they always join in.

It's just a song that's played after a game and even then, only because we've won. It's not an anthem or a statement, it's just a song played over the PA system. I can't see what the fuss is about?
