"The Day We Caught The Lift" would be more accurate. Blandest song ever written.

Why do Ocean Duller Scene (clever eh?) always get a mention in the countless threads about music at Villa Park? I know they are a Birmingham band and all that but they are also an abomination with no strong (if any) Villa connection, the above mentioned song is also, as has been pointed out, an horrendous dirge.

Playing devil's advocate, The Day We Caught The Train wouldn't work. Its singalong bit is too short to belt out with any conviction.

Can we not cheer on the final whistle and leave the ground happy? Do we need a song?

If we really do need a song, and despite me thinking the song of choice is bizarre, people know it, like it and sing along to it, which I presume is the point (something I’ve just realised this post probably doesn’t have...)

We've tried Black Sabbath/Ozzy as our walkout music a few times last few years.

I don't mind it but again it never seems to stick as we keep changing it after about five games back to Escape or something else.

Sounds great at Wembley as the players are carrying a trophy. Loads of clubs have the same songs, Chelsea and Wolves play Liquidator for example.

You'll never walk alone while intrinsically linked to Liverpool is or has been sung by Celtic, Dortmund and Feyenoord to name a few.

Everyone used to sing that song when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s.

Correct. Including Jam fans while waiting for encores at Bingley Hall.

If we lose to another West London side and their manager in a couple of weeks 'The Laughing Gnome' will be appropriate.

heavy metal is shit.

And it smells.

I will always associate Heavy Metal with body odour and complete social death.

The bellend that warbles out the words is a nose as well. He was on Talksport a few years back when they won the league cup, although he clearly knew shit all about them or football in general, and was just using the slot to get some publicity.

Probably. I would imagine heavy metal is something you either love or hate.
