I really do like Davis. The lad's hold-up play is a joy.

What a find he is, given that Villa have rarely found one of that kind that good. I just hope that he does not get us promoted, only to move to Bayern Munich, then retire to sound pompous in headphones on Sky Sports....

Takes youngest daughter to bed... 0-1

Sends middle daughter to bed... 0-2

Eldest daughter is now on her marching orders.

I love watching Davis in this form.
Agreed. Their back 4 will be glad to see the back of him.

Who would have thought Hutton would turn into Phillip Lahm when he went to left back. Incredible, he looks miles more comfortable than at right back.

So it's Hutton dressed as Lahm

2011 called asking for its joke back *winky*

Quite. I think Mazrim was the first person I remember making that joke, and I don't think he's posted since McLeish was managing us.

It was posted on here before that and Mazrim had a strop when it was pointed out it wasn't his original joke.

I would replace Whelan second half. He is the only player who has looked a little below par. Maybe Jedi?

Have to disagree with that.  I think he has has had a good half there and has largely controlled things in there.

Whelan was excellent in the first half.
Excellent...really? He did ok, better than the last couple of games but I wouldn't use excellent as a word to describe him tonight.

To be fair, I've been critical of him in the past but he had a very good first half.

Adomah nearly in on goal there, but the ball got away from him.

Fair do's I stand corrected.

I know this is against the vibe of a positive thread, but I don’t think we have shown much quality tonight. PNE are awful, all over the place, but they are still a threat and, mistakes excepted have coped with us. Davis is isolated and neither Bert nor Snodgrass have beaten their part time, makeshift fullbacks. They should be giving them a torrid time, but they aren’t.

I am 24 hours post op so am a bit miserable.

That's 3 points in the bag.

Now on to another 3 against Sheffield Wednesday, which I'm coming to, and cementing our top 6 place!

UTV!
