Just because I don't like being punched, doesn't mean I don't think they should change their name.

It's dreadfully arrogant to suggest a fanbase who love their club just as we do should have some dickhead owner foist a new name or club colours upon them. At first I thought you were being tongue in cheek CD but when I realised you were serious by feebly defending your paperweight argument I wasn't impressed.  Have a word with yourself buddy.

If they love their club just as much as we do, I'm sure changing from a boring name to a much better one wouldn't be enough to put them off going.

I don't support Aston Villa for the name. I support them because my family does. The fact we have a lovely, unique name is warming but irrelevant. My team could have been Beige Town F.C but my links and support would have been the same. Look at you CD. Aren't you lucky to support Villa? Pity the poor generations of fucks who support Hull City.Let's applaud their 'likeable' owner for riding roughshod over these dullards and change their beloved club name.

You're taking an inference that isn't there. I've no problem with Hull City or their fans. I think they should change their name, though.

Well then you're ignorant of the real threat to their name and their fervent opposition to it. As a self confessed football fan I'm aghast you'd need to be made aware of it.

I'm agog at your being aghast.

Because their owner's a c*** - fuck the fuckers!

Villa 3-0

I like their owner. He's right, "Hull City" is a massively unoriginal and boring name. "Hull Tigers" is much better.

Anyway, 0-0.

I feel the same about us sharing our name with Pelsall. Boring.  I'd much prefer we changed to the B6 Bullets.

Our name is superb. "Hull City" is atrocious. Not sure what there is to gain by pretending otherwise?

You started the nonsense CD.

What "nonsense"? You think "City" is a decent name for a team?

No I think football supporters deserve not to be dicked about by moronic owners who suggest changing the name of their effing football club. Hull is a city. Hull City FC. Fucks sake.

Hull actually isn't a city but Kingston upon Hull is.
Not a lot of people know that!
I can't wait for the season to kick off so people can have something that's actually important to get their knickers in a twist over.

Sorry, but it needed to be stated as it was bugging me like an incorrect use of an apostrophe.

Been doing a bit of research and Chippenham seem to be the first "Town". Huddersfield have to change.

Yep, I don't think that my second team could ever go back to their original name

I think Sheffield United were the first 'United'.

I also heard an argument that Newcastle United have an earlier founding date. The theory being that they weren't formed from a merger between Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End. West End went bust and East End took their ground, but otherwise just changed their name to Newcastle United to try to increase their fanbase.

Take any kind of win. Hull goosed Leicester first game last season so not counting any chickens

Same for me. We simply must start well. I don't want us to be thinking 'it's only two points off automatic' by September, and then before we know it it'll 'only' be six points off the play offs.

Get the win and carry on.

1-0 Villa. I don't care who scores it.

I have counted the chickens AND assembled all the ingredients for the celebratory omelette.
