Anyway Roscommon - Offaly on now. Could go either way, they have Shane Lowry in attendance but no Chris O'Dowd which might give them the edge. :)

Brilliant win for Mayo, I also converted a sceptical English man to the joys of GAA.

Disappointing, kicked it away really. Offaly more clinical on the day even if their goal led a charmed life at times Wouldn't begrudge them a bit of success as they've had a barren time of it.

Football final now on Sept. 11. Eoghan McLaughlin will miss it due to a double jaw fracture as a result of the skanger Small's 'challenge'.

Yep, from my experience the English love GAA when they see it, both codes.

I'm a hurling man, not too into football, but my family are all Munster, so it was inevitable.

They're a bit different in Munster they even play garrison games like rugby down there. ;)

Not sure if you've seen a top class hurling game at Croker but well worth it if you can, much better in the flesh than on TV.

Haha, I'm obliged to overlook the popularity of rugby.

I've never seen hurling live, I'm ashamed to say. I really want to, but never been over when it's been on.

Sounds like an excuse for a trip to Dublin next summer. :)

I was planning one, actually. My family are all on bloody Dingle now, so a bastard to get to when you don't drive. Train to Holyhead, speed ferry to Dublin, on the other hand, lovely.

Just seen the end of the first half of the hurling. Never watched it before. Doesn't look like it will be a close game.
