I just can't see their star players or Pochettino hanging around for many more years of close calls.I don't think they have a side better than the one that won two FA cups and the UEFA cup in the eighties. Clemence, Danny Thomas, Hughton, Miller, Roberts, Gary Stevens, Mabbutt, Hoddle, Villa, Ardiles, Hazard, Galvin and strikers like Crooks, Archibald, Alan Brazil and Mark Falco. As for the media love in, the love is starting to fade. Most comments I hear about them at the moment involve their nearly men status and how they need to start fulfilling their promise with a trophy.

The Spurs double team of the 60s were the best for me. Which is why I have had over 50 years of disliking them so much as a club although this team and manager are not so bad.

The big question, particularly if he has a good World Cup, will they be able to keep hold of Harry Kane next season.

If you think the modern day media fawning over the Sky elite was OTT, you should have seen it back then. Every sports page in the papers and Saturday football exploits was all Tottenham, it's no wonder a lot of us old gits dislike them and find it hard to let go.
