I mean. Losing 2-1 at home to Juventus in a European tie. What sort of teams do that? (I was in the North Stand Lower).  https://youtu.be/9OcQNYWam2k

Not that it really matters, but I note that Citeh lost their home leg.  What sort of team loses at home in the second leg of what is now known as the round of 16 having won away?

As good as Spurs are they just never seem to be quite good enough. The love in will come to a stop for a while at least.

I have a lifelong hatred of Tottenham, so I'm quite pleased with that.

I'm very pleased with that. I had a fiver on Juventus to win 2-1 at odds of 10/1. I am fifty quid up on the night as I lost a fiver by betting on City to win 4-0.

I went to the Citeh game last night on a works social. 49,000 there and only atmosphere came from the Basel fans who were typically European and choreographed. We were in the upper tier of the stand opposite the cameras and it was dead apart from a woman off her t*ts on drugs shouting Feck Off every couple of minutes and two pissed Scottish Rangers fans repeatedly singing about Barcelona in 1972 and hating the Pope and IRA. I did feel for any parents taking their kids to their first game!
Quite a few Citeh fans around us were moaning about the performance. Not the best game but Sane is something else, superstar in the making.

Fortunately I was at the SOL the night before where the Villa fans were in fine voice.

In fairness, I don't recall Villa Park being particularly raucous on similar occasions. Second legs when you know you're already through are roughly on the same level as pre-season friendlies for atmosphere.

Nice little dilemma for Arsenal fans. Do they want to win the Europa League and in doing so qualify for the Champions League and keep Arsene into the bargain or go out in the next round and have a fresh start under a new manager next season. Personally I'm not chuffed as my money was on Milan tonight.

I am of course aware they could still blow it in the home leg against Milan.

I think he'll go/be pushed out on a high if they win that.

Article on beeb website along the lines of Spurs learning from their defeat for future benefit. In fairness I haven't read it but my thought on seeing the headline was how long are they going to be the nearly men? When are they going to get there? Then I remembered it's Spurs so the answers are forever and never.

Correct. I reckon this is the best Spuds team in my lifetime and they've still won bugger all. I just can't see their star players or Pochettino hanging around for many more years of close calls.

We will have to watch the fouls on Saturday as this lot go down more times than Stormy Daniels.

I thought it was Peter Daniel who used to play for Wolves. Was stormy his nickname? ;)

I don't think they have a side better than the one that won two FA cups and the UEFA cup in the eighties. Clemence, Danny Thomas, Hughton, Miller, Roberts, Gary Stevens, Mabbutt, Hoddle, Villa, Ardiles, Hazard, Galvin and strikers like Crooks, Archibald, Alan Brazil and Mark Falco.

As for the media love in, the love is starting to fade. Most comments I hear about them at the moment involve their nearly men status and how they need to start fulfilling their promise with a trophy.
