Interesting that Everton have gone for Allardyce and soon as they are in trouble. I say it is interesting as it is the type of choice we didn't make when we began to struggle.

These views that it would be good to win the Championship and not get promoted, I simply don't get. So you're saying, you want to see us permanently in a crap division. If you have any ambition at all, you want to be in the best league in the world, the Premier League.

If you have any ambition at all, you want to be in the best league in the world, the Premier League. The best League is the Championship. It’s competitive and exciting rather than desperate and oppressive like the Premier. There are about 6 teams terrified of not qualifying for Champions League, same 6 terrified of qualifying for the Europa League and remaining 14 terrified of being relegated. It’s League where as a manager you either have to be a super duper coach on a short leash or a survival specialist on an even shorter leash.
