There's seemed to be much more attacking purpose today, long may it continue. Good to see Elmo and Grealish taking players on. Great finishing from Hogan some promising performances from the kids.

I actually thought Gabby may have committed a foul for his goal but the fact he was getting stuck in was a positive. I suppose. He's gonna earn himself a new bloody contract isn't he?

May? It was GBH!

Remember Benteke's goal against Malaga in a pre season friendly? The defender went off wth a broken collar bone. Swatted the poor fucker away like a beach ball.

I was impressed by how the youngsters got involved and pressured their opponents, that comes of having some stable heads around that will not wilt.

Looking a lot better today, and always nice to win any trophy!

Positives - El Mohamady looked good, Samba will give Bruce a selection headache, Terry was excellent, Hogan finally looked decent. No sign of 3 at the back, looks like 4-4-2 this season.

Negative - Hope Richards injury doesn't stop us selling the useless donkey. Still at least if he is injured he can't play.

Champions .... of the WORLD.

That was really fun though. I think the players enjoyed it as well.

I want to temper my enthusiasm but my god its nice to have Chris Samba in the side. I just feel like we wont make comedy mistakes with him there.

Nice to see Hogan do well, also special shout out to some of Amavi's ball control at speed.

There's someone on the pitch singing I Will Survive
Is his name D. Ismay? (he says with dismay)

Smart goals from Hogan. I think he'll be a big hit this season.

I know what you are saying but the thought of Samba, Terry, Jedinak and Whelan being on the pitch at the same time worries me immensely.

Disagree with matt that Gabby fouled their defender, he was simply out-muscled. Most refs like to see a physical tussle and will let it go, and usually it goes they defender's way. this time it didn't. Absolutely nothing wrong with Gabby's challenge which was just a physical presence.
