Presumably whoever broadcasts the Championship in Canada has other sporting events on during the rest of the day, and wouldn't be keen to have their viewing audience diluted by people going off to watch matches online. They'll have paid for exclusivity, partly so noone else can show the games in Canada, partly so nobody can show it during their other broadcasts.

The games at 3pm are on between 7am and 11am depending on where you are in the country. I think it's safe to say domestic sports aren't being played at that time anywhere in North America.

Other sporting events could be the Premier League or any other football match from Europe.

I'd imagine there may be rights issues. Are other clubs doing so?

Maybe there are. There must be a reason but I'll be buggered if I know what it is. Like I say, if Sky pay for a certain number games and then get to pick them why should they either care or get a say in what happens to the others?

Because it impacts the value of the fixtures they do pay for.

Isn't that obvious?

Well let's take a look at what happened with Premier League rights.

From 1992 to 2007 Sky has exclusivity in the UK and the last exclusive deal they signed cost £2.47m per game.  From 2007 it was shared with Setanta and the cost was £4.12m per game.  The deal with BT which expired last year cost £6.53m per game.

Now whilst this doesn't prove anything it also doesn't support the theory that by removing exclusivity you reduce the value to the broadcasters.

Anyway.

Any one else think the training kit colours are exactly the same as the Mercedes Petronas F1 team?

Grey with a turquoise accent line.  Useful if you need to look good whilst changing a tyre.

Without really wanting to drag this back off-topic. The Championship will have three times as many games on TV from 2019/20, rising from 112 this season to 324 matches.

We need to get the fuck out of this league. In an upward direction, please.

£100 for something that is "royal magenta"

http://shop.avfc.co.uk/stores/astonvilla/en/product/aston-villa-stadium-jacket---royal-magenta/208877
This has really pissed me off.
It's shit like this that makes the club a 'brand', match day an 'experience' and fans 'clients'.

Is it too much trouble for the club to refer to its own colours as claret and blue!

Magenta is a royal mail stamp colour, not an Aston Villa colour.

I'd look lovely standing next to a slaughtered rhino in that.

This could finally be a new chant:

"Stephen Roger Bruce's Royal Magenta and Maya Blue rhino slaughtering army"

It looks like they have decided that our colours are Royal Magenta, so it is no surprise that when people say that shirt is not Claret, they are right it isn't. It's a Royal Fuckin Magenta.
It is a disgrace.
