Taking time to make banners you say ...

... you realise of course that was in response to the banners you brought, right? So I'm not sure it makes the point you hoped it would.
After the Ant and Dec thing this is the funniest thing I have ever seen at a football game.  They came to take the piss with the slow dawning realisation that they were coming down with us.  What a ****** this guy must have felt.  It was brilliant.

Of course, they genuinely get to take the piss tomorrow, but there you go.

Can I register my concern at the lack of "effusive praise" we've received from fans of other clubs. Im going to struggle to sleep tonight.

"We're not concerned about being everybody's favourite second club". Obviously.

No I agree in the main. But we don't care about Gayle as he doesn't play for us. Play him/ don't play him - irrelevant to us. As for your prediction - why do you want us to reply to that? Its a predictions thread and as you've noticed the vast majority think you'll win. No one has posted any enmity towards other posters thinking you'll win. You probably will because you're currently better than us, it's at home and we're on a terrible run.

Yes, there will be enmity from the tiny minority of Villa fans but for a multitude of reasons. You'll also find many more that probably like Newcastle. I find myself as one of them. I couldn't give a shit about the original banner and thought it was crap if truth be told. But by Christ you have whinged on about it. By constantly bringing it up whenever we play you are allowing the media to whip up something that isn't there.

We, the fans, as you do as do all other fans, will jump to defend the 'honour' of their club. As you have post- banner and as we will when you go on about it because you really want to beat us because of it.  But the point from our side of the fence is forget about it. It was a banner and hilarity from our side 8 years ago. If you lot just shrugged it off as typical football fan 'banter' and realised that you were fair game then, and were last season, then this would be parked where it belongs right at the back of the Asda car park with no-one noticing.

But no you can't. Its almost as if you think you should be above being laughed at by a club that just wanted to laugh at a big club going down. It just happened that the big club was you and the club relegating the big club was us.

You don't care if the league's top goalscorer is back? I would. I would care if the opposition's best striker was back from injury for our game.

I didn't say I wanted anyone to reply to my predictions, I said that people have chosen to ignore the rest of the post and only react to the bit where I say that there remains some resentment towards some of your fanbase.

You're fundamentally not getting this; the media bring it up to sell papers/get clicks, which stirs the pot on both sides. You seem to insist that it's only the Newcastle fans who reference this, that's not the case. Villa fans bring up Newcastle fans not letting it go, Newcastle fans bring it up too.

This whole thread has been derailed because I mentioned in passing that Newcastle will be up for the game because there remains some resentment. That should have been that. But some of you are just as precious over those banners as some Newcastle fans are.

I myself think it's all a bit silly and it's a fabricated rivalry that will be forgotten soon enough.
Nah.  We're capable of losing with or without Gayle playing.  Won't make much difference to us.

Are they still on about that fucking banner? Still pretending it was some kind of over the top outrage that cuts the quick of moral fibre and Corinthian spirit? It was a joke you sad bastards.

No doubt this "rivalry", that they don't care about, will again see hordes of morons bouncing up and down behind the Police on Monday and throwing things at our fans again.

And it will be considered fair order by some neanderthals up on the Jock border because someone once wrote something about Ant and Dec on a fucking bedsheet.

And all this whilst stupid bastards are top of the League.

If you want melodramatic, then check out this I've just seen on my Facebook feed.

#Pushing those morons closer to relegation would mean ever more to me than getting promoted.  They don't realise what this great club means to us.  The Villa fans that day were utterly spiteful, vicious and shameful in what they did.  My boss had to send me home from work the next day, I was that upset by it.  But they say revenge is best served cold.  I hope to God they get relegated, go into administration and are liquidated.  Even that won't be enough to make up for what they put us through that day.  I fucking hate them so much#

But apparently Brentford don't like us and think they are ace. Or some such drivel. Not that they want everyone to like them. They are like the Olbiyun with bigger crowds.

I think we have to accept that the majority of Newcastle fans aren't used to unsanitised, pre-Sky piss taking. The majority arrived  with Sky and Keegan. Pre-Sky they were getting crowds as low as 9,000. And they wonder why we all laugh at them bragging about attendances.

Cheltenham, I do love the sad tracksuit clad morons that are bouncing up and down with their camera phones as if there's a horse they can punch. They hang around chucking coins and look very pleased there's a line of police "holding them back".

Whether we have the mental toughness to get a result, away to our biggest rivals in the world, I just don't know.

Barca / Real
River / Boca
Newcastle / Villa.

I'm going for an unlikely draw.

Boom. Now there is a point for Mr Fish to answer. You might just have nailed it.

If it's anything like the reason Newcastle hate us, put the washing out.

They certainly won't mention the time their away support at VP numbered 12 (twelve). They'll take the piss about us taking around 1700 though.
