It's part of any event ,especially football,to pass comment on what you are watching or what you've seen.
In the far distant past it was just the players' and referee's performances that came under scrutiny as every team played the same way until newly promoted Ipswich caused a stir by winning the League in '62 with Sir Alf withdrawing his winger to play in a more central position. Then soon after for the next 40-50 years it was twin strikers and 2  central defenders and the cult of the manager and TV pundits.
The punditry has filtered down to the grounds and forums like this.Let the arguments continue.

Just got into a taxi in Split Croatia, going from hotel to the old town and my lad is wearing his Villa top. Taxi driver starts talking about football and says "Villa are massive, you should be in premier league, watched you loose v Fulham, you have a bad manager though"

He knows it, and we know it.

He is a Hajuduk Split fan and he reckons that they are bad and the ultras want to kill the president, football fans eh?

I've supported Bruce from day one, but I've had enough of his stupid selections and defensive tactics. I thought he might have learnt a lesson after the Fulham debacle, but no.....time for change. Get Dean Smith in!

If I choose to lob out £30 for a ticket to watch the Villa and spend the ninety-odd minutes moaning about all and sundry, despite us winning 4-0 every game then surely that's my prerogative.  I'll support any way I choose, the mere fact that I've parted with hard to come by thirty quid is all the support Aston Villa care about.  Hard for me to say, but that's the truth of it and believe me, I have loved the Villa all my life.

You can indeed.

But I also spend my £30. Do I have to spend my hard earned money to listen to your opinions and you not to mine? If I think your talking bollocks or think you should support your team not criticise them does that make me the “crowd police” or you?

Anyway there you go, clearly the word “support” means different things to different folks

I've been going to Villa Park for 25 years (not long for some on here) I've never felt the need to interact with anybody for a difference of opinion.

I just zone the noise out.

I'd rather sit next to a fan ranting than a drummer.

I think he'll end up going

But it's odd when people say he can't take us up

If Fulham had beaten blues on the last day of last season we'd have played Cardiff or derby in the final. I reckon we'd be up now

Quite possibly, and other combinations might have seen us go up, however they didn't happen. For me, not being near the top two automatic places was poor, by management and players. This season, again I do not think we will hit the top two.

I spent a year working out in Split in the 90's and used to regularly attend Hajduk Split games amongst the Torcida, passionate fans but the stadium was rarely quarter full unless they played anybody from Zagreb which would then be a packed cauldron of noise and flares (the fiery ones not the trousers).

Just read an article about our loan situation. Just about everyone everywhere agrees that we need a centre back, left back and striker. We can only ever name 5 in the squad. We've just signed 2 really good wide players, great, we have no choice but to use one of the 2 loan keepers. Axel is playing every game at the moment (possibly a condition of his loan agteement) so how are we going to bring use the 3 loan players we so desperately need? If he does bring in a centre back and left back we lose the quality wide players so back to square one. Bruce has made a complete mess of it. Losing Joe Bryan has obviously caused a big problem but why wasn't there a contingency plan in place?

And we would still have been in the hands of a chancer who would never have invested and just uses the PL money. Funny old game

Moreira is a loan but Nyland is ours.

TSV-keep the. Lions flag flying high, you in Split, me in Trogir!
Bruce may be feeling his grasp on the Villa slipping, because most if not all of the permanent signings/loans who have come in don't seem like Bruce players.
For the moment who he picks and where they play on match day is still his domain and he is intent on letting everybody know that.
Enjoy it while you can Bruce!
