Juan Carlos Osorio ? Imagine having to sing his name....how can it fit in with claret and blue army. On that basis it's a no from me.
J C O’s claret & blue army - done ;-)

Ok...Might consider him then. But these things do need to be considered.

I wonder what we would be saying on here as outsiders if another Championship club sacked their manager after five league games from the start of the season with no defeats and sitting fourth in the table.

He's won 6 of the last 18 league games (classing playoffs as league games) and been knocked out of a cup by Burton. As an outsider looking at Aston Villa in division 2 with the squad we have, would you be surprised?

I don't give a shit what other clubs’ fans think of our manager. We watch the games.

I’m fed up of hearing about how he’s a promotion specialist from bloke down the pub MOTD viewers, the same lot who still tell me MON was a great manager we were lucky to have.

Regarding the fans, there are quite a few by me in the Holte, who if they hear anyone say anything negative about Bruce or Villa have a right go. There are about 6 or 10 who are mates who bully and shout anyone down. They are 100% behind Bruce. I think there are quite a few and probably the majority of Villa fans support him.

I go to support the team not to bore on about how Steve Bruce is playing Jedinek at centre half or hear “hoofball Bruce” when actually there’s some decent football played. Most folks I talk to around me are the same although not blind to Bruce’s failings.

I have always supported Aston Villa FC, my team, right or wrong.

I might even agree with you some of the time, but down the match? Yeah I’ll tell you to get behind our team or don’t bother coming. That’s not supporting Bruce 100%, instead it’s supoorting my team 100%. Save the moaning for keyboards or (for the less technical of us)
tge pub afterwards.

You're not proper fans unless you give unrelenting, blind, support to all players and staff regardless of how much damage they are doing to the club. Or something.

If I choose to lob out £30 for a ticket to watch the Villa and spend the ninety-odd minutes moaning about all and sundry, despite us winning 4-0 every game then surely that's my prerogative.  I'll support any way I choose, the mere fact that I've parted with hard to come by thirty quid is all the support Aston Villa care about.  Hard for me to say, but that's the truth of it and believe me, I have loved the Villa all my life.

I slagged Bruce at the Brentford game for dicking around with his substitutes and a bloke a few rows behind was chunnering about the anti Bruce protest brigade. There’s a lot of support for him out there but it doesn’t take long once the away fans turn for that to feed through to the Home crowd. Couple more bad results and he’ll be facing his McLeish “Bolton” moment.
Wigan for TSM. Preston for RDM.

You’re right it was Wigan away and Bolton Home for TSM1.

It was Hull away for TSM 2 though I recall the fans both home and away had turned before then.

You should be in the frame in the Next Manager thread as Bruce can't even get a tune out of his players.

Dave, I agree totally. Too many people just seem to turn up, sit down, and accept any old crap that's put before them.
I still see supporting my team as a participation event, and if people want to disagree that is fine. Yes pays her money and all that...

You can indeed.

But I also spend my £30. Do I have to spend my hard earned money to listen to your opinions and you not to mine? If I think your talking bollocks or think you should support your team not criticise them does that make me the “crowd police” or you?

Anyway there you go, clearly the word “support” means different things to different folks

Yeah nobody wants to sit next to somebody moaning for 90 minutes anymore than you do somebody who is battered out their brains.

I've never understood why people get vitriolic at the game about a player or the Villa in general. I completely get anxiety manifesting or people critiquing a poor pass or cross with a "fucking hell Albert!" or a "sort it out Villa". On the way back, with your mates, in the car, but not when you're there.

But the vitriolic stuff, I dont hear it often, Wednesday away being an example, I can't help but tolerate a very finite amount of it. This chap at Wednesday was proper digging the lot of them out and people like that might as well be stood on the Tilton.

I don't agree with pays your money you do what you want either. You're not a customer, remember how many pairs of undercrackers got in a twist over that? You're a supporter. You're there for a reason. You can make a difference. If you abandon that, then you really have let Scudamore win.

I agree with this. The sooner Bruce goes the better imo  but at the game we all need to get behind the team and support them. That dosnt mean supporting Bruce or singing his name which I will never do. At the game support the Villa
