I want him gone

when the experience lot have gone and we are left with the young players , I want some new dynamic way of playing and not teaching the kids to play it around the back and give to the goalie and hoof it up to guy up front on the right side to lose it and the other team get the possession again .

Maybe a manager who has a plan B too

Good point. why teach the kids bruceball? We want players who can eventually play in the premiership.

How about a 21st century version of Little/Evans/Gregory in
Laursen/Mellberg/Petrov?
I wouldn't mind the Tinker man at Villa Park - not sure how old he is now though

TBH I feel all the shit going on flips the whole Bruce thing on its head.

Him staying gives us a credibility we might not otherwise have, now that the senior management off the pitch are effectively AWOL.

That is how I feel, the last thing we need is more self imposed uncertainty.

Me too.  What we absolutely need now is experience.  Somebody young and inexperienced would be eaten alive.

He needs to stay, for two reasons. One being we need stability and not slide into the abyss. Two his successor would be chosen by a bloke who gambled our whole future on promotion, and knows about as much about football as my Mom. In fact, less than my Mom.

I'm watching with interest the Leeds / Bielsa story. I would much rather Bruce goes to Leeds and we get Bielsa however unlikely that would appear to be right now.

the last thing we need right now is a guy who makes Walter White look balanced.

This exactly! Bruce needs to stay, nobody half decent will want to rock up at Villa while this shitfest is going on.

I really don't buy into this former player route, it's old hat and it fails way more often than not.  There aren't too many successful clubs in this country at least who are managed by former players of the same club.  As for needing experience, well Bruce has that and look where it's got us.  What we need is talent.

It didn't really fail the last two times we tried it though.

I would probably stick with Bruce.

He hasn't covered himself in glory during his time here and should certainly have placed far more trust in his players to have taken games to the opposition instead of sitting back and playing a percentages game.

That said, we need stability as you said.  Whatever else, he has introduced professionalism and team spirit into the dressing room and my feeling is that this will help immensely in the difficult months ahead.  Ironically, with the quality of the side likely to fall, it may well be that the Bruce style will suit us more next season than previously.
