Yes, Drum, point taken but he was sent to the car dealer with a big, big, bag of cash.  He managed to buy a crap Jaguar.  Others with a pocketful of small change have got  old family saloons firing on all cylinders.

Slightly left field, but a chap called Brian Green bought some Japanese martial arts stuff from us yesterday.

Surely there can't be more than one?

It can only be Brian preparing for the last game of the season.

Or maybe he’s not the mechanic that some seem to think he is. Ok on Reliant Robin’s but not so good with Jaguars

Di Matteo had the big big bag of cash.

I think Wyness is key to the future path.  Rumours have had it that Wyness has been riding shotgun for Bruce all season.  Is Wyness the sort of man who will hold his hand up and say Bruce was an expensive mistake or will he want another gnarled old slugger manager?  We shall see.  Like our promotion prospects it is a coin toss.

Steve Bruce was an expensive mistake you say:

RDM Spend = £53.9 Million

Steve Bruce Spend = £22.4 Million

He was that much of a expensive mistake he's spent not even half of what the Messiah who could only manage 1 victory spent.

RDMs problems were trying to entertain us from Day 1 and failing to build a solid defence. He may have only won one game but he only lost 3. That solid defence would have turned the conceding last minute draws into wins. He only has himself to blame.

You can’t just take spending, what about resale value, player contribution, resale value and wages particularly of loans.
Haven’t seen any one suggest RDM was a messiah.

Being less of an expensive mistake than RDM doesn't stop him being an expensive mistake if we don't go up and miss out on £100m. And has anyone ever called RDM the messiah or is that just hyperbolic shite?

Who called Di Matteo 'the Messiah'? Is it not possible to think that he didn't do a very good job as well as thinking Bruce could have done better in his two years?

Whatever the rights and wrongs of Di Matteo's time at the club, £20-£30m of that money included Kodija, Chester, Adomah and Jedinak - want to think about where we'd be this season without Albert's goals and Chester's consistency?

Yes, if Steve Bruce doesn't get us promoted after two seasons to a league where even the weakest teams get up to £100m in prize and tv money, then he was an expensive mistake.

Or he bought a steam engine, a perfect machine. Just a little behind the times.

I have no wish to be combative about Bruce.  My view is a very simple one.  Given the time and resources he has been given compared with his immediate predecessors Garde, Sherwood and RDM I personally find him a disappointment.  Just my opinion.  Not suggesting it should be anybody else's

Regardless of who purchased those players, the squad is good enough to have pissed this league and it hasn’t. Despite RDM’s higher spending, there is no doubting that he bought some very good players, including Kodjia, Chester, Jedinak and Albert. Three of them have been the glue for this current side and yet Bruce hasn’t made the most of them by adding missing ingredients and smashing the league. No excuses for either Bruce or RDM really.

Admirable. That's not really how H&V works though...

For what it's worth, pretty much lines up with my own views.

Still talking about RDM?!

We wouldn't have finished in top 6 if he'd been given whole of last season. As I've said many times we weren't ready as a club to compete at the top part of the division.

This season we certainly should be and have although missing out on top 2 will be disappointing.

We would probably be in the division below if that imposter was still in charge.

I had zero faith that he was the manager capable of sorting us out, and he did little to prove me wrong.

He was a terrible appointment, the only saving grace was our new owners had the balls and gumption to realise it and correct it in quick time.
