I have no wish to be combative about Bruce.  My view is a very simple one.  Given the time and resources he has been given compared with his immediate predecessors Garde, Sherwood and RDM I personally find him a disappointment.  Just my opinion.  Not suggesting it should be anybody else's

Admirable. That's not really how H&V works though...

For what it's worth, pretty much lines up with my own views.

I know I shouldn’t but, go on then I’ll bite. How exactly does H&V work then?

I think Wyness is key to the future path.  Rumours have had it that Wyness has been riding shotgun for Bruce all season.  Is Wyness the sort of man who will hold his hand up and say Bruce was an expensive mistake or will he want another gnarled old slugger manager?  We shall see.  Like our promotion prospects it is a coin toss.

Steve Bruce was an expensive mistake you say:

RDM Spend = £53.9 Million

Steve Bruce Spend = £22.4 Million

He was that much of a expensive mistake he's spent not even half of what the Messiah who could only manage 1 victory spent.
You can’t just take spending, what about resale value, player contribution, resale value and wages particularly of loans.
Haven’t seen any one suggest RDM was a messiah.

How dare i forget you can't use facts that shine a positive light on Bruce.

Brace yourselves I'm about to break the rules again.

To the people saying Bruce has alienated our Ross and isolated him,  The fact we tried to loan him back to Fulham only for their players to beg the manager not to take him back might actually point to the FACT that what has happened to Ross is all down to Ross himself and nothing to do with Bruce.

People treated him like one even though the facts pointed out he was Useless.  But then want Bruce sacked the moment we lose a match.

Blimey, that's some imagination you have there.

You mean like the over 70% of posters on here who agreed with RDM's sacking or said he was close to it?

SB has been largely as expected for me given how he's played at other clubs.

Results on the whole functional and the football played has been of that manner aswell. That's just his style.

I do think we have played a pretty decent standard since xmas, Bristol and Wolves games we were superb. Of course games like Sheffield away feel like steals but every single club in this league will have results like that during a season.

I still look back though and think how unprepared we were at the start of the season and that shouldn't have happened. Stuff like sending Samba on as an emergency striker and punting it long. If as seems likely we miss out on second now I look back as the start as the time for regret.

Really we've gambled on this season big time. Amount of 30 + year olds in our team indicates that. Next season going to be much more difficult regardless of the division we're in.

I expect more than we get at times. At others we do perfectly well.

Perhaps my expectations have been lowered over the last years but I'm happier now than I have been as we go into every game with the thought we have a great chance to win. In that regard my expectations have increased.

I've been underwhelmed with Bruce at times and really frustrated when we have another bad spell (I think I may even have voted for him to go around Christmas). However, I like him as a person, I think he's a good manager, but needs to do better. The general trajectory is still the right one, albeit not as steep or as speedily as we'd all like.

Nice summary Drummond, exactly how I feel too. Not sure I want him gone if we don't go up, but wouldn't be surprised if he did go if we don't go up.

But then want Bruce sacked the moment we lose a match.
No no one wants that however myself and many others want him sacked for being so far behind Cardiff and Wolves and that’s not losing one match.

You really want Bruce sacked now?
