The annoying thing is we all know Bruce will use the excuse of the international break for any sub par performance against Blackburn.

Too many players away.
A few with twinges and knocks.
No chance to work with the whole squad.

I hope in Friday's press conference that 2 questions are put to Bruce: Why have you let Elphick leave and left the defensive CB options absolutely threadbare? Why do you continue to set the team up with players out of position, particularly the defence?

I love my days out watching the villa but I'm afraid the longer we leave this idiot in charge the more inclined I am to knock it on the head and spend my hard earned cash on something else...Shame but 50 years of going and it's this manager that has all but finished me and by Christ I have seen some shit managers.
Exactly this. I’ll never stop going but if I was a 6, 7, 8 year old I don’t think I would support Bruce’s Villa. That’s surely a problem!! I’ve said before that Bruce is taking us backwards not forward and this is partly what I meant. We have become Steve Bruce’s Villa and that’s bordering on a disaster

My lad is 7 and he doesn't get it yet that we're shit. I sometimes feel a bit guilty as we don't even live in Brum and he would legitimately have picked a team that would be less 'complicated' without my influence. i do worry he'll do what a mate of mine's lad did... turn up at home from school one day and say 'Dad, we support Liverpool now, don't we?'

Whilst I agree with you absolutely, this would mean that there are reliable journo's in the room with their very good friend Steve Bruce who have the balls to ask those questions.  I don't think we can rely on any of them but you are totally correct, those two questions would be the very first I would want asked.

I would imagine he would counter with Elphick wanted to leave to find regular football and he does not want unhappy players. (Both comments are probably a bending of the truth but spun in his favour)
As for players out of position he would claim that the modern players are very flexible and it proves his motives when Elmo has scored 2 in 6 playing on the wing.

He is a Shyster who has shown he cannot manage a big club

Absolutely.

Unfortunately we’re more likely to hear Bruce being asked if he enjoyed his holiday in Portugal during the international break.

Pretty much this.  Being flexible and moving players around is fine, persisting with it when they're struggling and leaving yourself with almost no alternative is the problem here.

I'm ok with the experiment of Jedi at the back but the reality is that he makes too many mistakes, is too easily beaten by players with pace and he's part of the reason we look so disorganised because he's just not used to being part of a unit in the same way.

I'm ok with Tuanzebe having a game or 2 at fullback to get used to the players, but it's gone on too long now and he's keeping better players out of the team when he's not even our player. As I've said before loans for us either need to be the best player in their position at the club or need to have been loaned is as backup, we're in no position to be helping premier league clubs out by retraining their players to new positions whilst we suffer from their mistakes and have players like RDL not even making the 18.

This attitude of keeping the big clubs sweet is one of the clear signs that he's out of his depth at a club that expects to be challenging for the title and then competing for 7-8 in the premier league next season. He's said we're the biggest club he's ever managed but then done nothing differently to when he was at clubs like Blues, Wigan and Hull, even down to the sulking in the press about lack of funds.

The beer in Portugal was a bit dodgy.

The irony of Bruce talking about the flexibility of modern players would be so funny I would really, really piss myself laughing.

I wouldn't, I'm still at the angry stage.

I suspect everyone is hoping that the international break has made everyone calm down and, to a degree, forget how dire things have been. I just hope we win at the weekend and keep on winning, though I can't see it.

He still here then, and his chum Terry is not. The optimism has completely ebbed away from me, it's going to be another season of under achievement.

I can't believe that he's still here. Another week wasted. Another season wasted.

He won't be here for much longer if we lose the next few, especially in the manner in which we lost to Sheff Utd.

and if we win a few he will still be here - and so it goes on. Bruce isn't and never was the answer but he prevented us from doing a Sunderland.
