Villa shop in New St now closed

People see the Villa and want to join it.
I can't tell you the number of times I've seen Our Shop on New Street and thought, yeah, sunbeam, beat that!

Not quite true during the xmas period from the mid 70's both us and little baggies would set up in the bull ring

We are the Villa we should have a shop in the Mailbox.......or take over Selfridges.

I never went in to the Villa shop and I often walked past it. I probably spent more in the old shop in the Pavilions than I ever spent in the New Street shop, my spending habits have changed.

We will not lose future generations by not having a store in the city centre. We will gain fans by getting it right on the pitch and enhancing our social media presence which is where kids will be influenced.

Concourse of Birmingham Grand Central maybe ? Don't think it's going to be happening anytime soon unfortunately as if this were a relocation exercise it would have been announced as that surely?

It's a decent part of town and will look much better when the BHS is relet and refurbished later this year.  I'd say an ideal spot.

What will get kids interested is having a half decent team in the pl and tickets for schools (not sure if we do this now with the upper trinity closed)

Its a shame that in the city the size of ours there is not enough business for a club like the Villa to keep a presence in the centre.

Birmingham city centre rents and Business rates are cripplingly expensive, you would need to shift more shirts than Man u and Barca to financially justify it, i think its both enlightening and depressing that neither of the City's Football clubs have a presence in the Town centre anymore (Do Small Heath still have the shop in Dale end?).

The "Footfall" as they call it in retail around that area is astronomical - but it didn't stop BHS just across the road from closing down.

Think BHS might have had more to do with the yachting knight and his buyer. That bit of New Street has been remarkably unlucky for stores hitting the skids though, so maybe it's the Birmingham City of, erm, Birmingham city. I reckon we should have opened an Amsterdam style herbal cafe in there. I would have gone to that, but only if they got rid of the day-glo away and keepers' shirts.

abit different I know as they are a one horse town,  but Southampton have a nice big shop in the WestCliff shopping centre and always seems to be busy enough.

mind you it might make people visit the club shop and see our magnificent ground and Aston Hall in all there glory...

Our merchandise is crap. It was like  £ shop with nothing costing a £.
Even the replica shirts are poor quality and the wrong colour.
Maybe if they started producing decent products they would sell more.
