Agree with pretty much everyone here. A skilled but limited player who had some brilliant moments for us and never failed to put in a shift.

Compare him to someone like McCormack, and the gulf between good and bad signings can be mind-bendingly huge.

He always at least made sure his gates worked, did our Conor.

Aye! That gates excuse reminded me of when I was with the drink a bit too heavily and called in to say I couldn't make it to work because one of my fence panels had fallen down.

It made sense at the time.

How did they respond to that? That can't have worked?!

It worked in the short term, not in the long term. That was when I was running out of excuses for being hungover.

It was funny when he scored a goal after we got promoted and contacted some Twitter troll from years back who said he would never be a Premier League player.

Good luck Conor, thanks.
Pity he might be rolling his sleeves up again with Steve Bruce but I wish him the best for the remainder of his career.

I wish him luck I whatever club he arrives at. He was the right player at the right time and was an important part of our recovery. Loved to watch him play

Agree, thanks and best wishes Conor.
That unkind 'hologram' tag had a ring of truth but, equally, we haven't carried any sort of Ward-Prowse-style set piece threat ever since.

He was always firs in if any of our players were in a skirmish. Watch the Leeds "free goal" game

Thanks for everything Conor

Does anyone remember the last minute free kick at blackburn away that temporarily saved Bruces job? It was an unbelievable outswinging inswinging thing of beauty.
Connor was too much of a limited player for a club with ambitions further up the premier league, but he was a really important player fir us at a crucial time in our history. That goal against the Albion is one of my favourite ever Villa goals. Good luck to that man.

One of the best value signings in recent years, plenty of goals and played a big part in getting us back up. Good luck to him.

Fabulous goals against Small Heath amongst others, crucial crucial goal against the Albion, always knew where the net was, always gave 100%. He helped get us out the championship and he'll be fondly remembered I hope .

I'll always have a soft spot for Conor.  Determined to make it to the top which he did with us, played with that ability to smash the goal out of the ground which he did on more than one occasion, and wasn't it sweet to see him do it a gainer the Albion and the Noses?  I don't think he will ever understand what that goal against the Albion meant to us, for that alone he can consider himself a hero.  Good luck Conor.

Agree Hookey. the two highlights for me with Conor were the goal against the Albion and the way he reacted the the Leeds cheat goal. Totally committed to Villa. Loved Conor and good luck to him.

Would someone be kind enough to point me in the direction of Villa's 'thank you' and Donor's response please? I can't seem to find them.
