Even if all he had brought to the table were those worldies in the playoffs, he'd still be remembered as a key figure in bringing Villa back from the brink. The fact he brought so much more on and off the pitch as a great professional and role model is even more admirable - he's been incredibly influential in building the great culture we seem to have now. Will never forget some of the moments he gave us while at the club and for that I'll always look out for him and wish him the best wherever he plays in the future. Would welcome him back at the club once his playing days are over in a heartbeat.

Nice tribute by the club to Conor and nice words from Conor about the Villa.
Good luck to the guy in whatever he does next.  A great professional, who did his bit in restoring pride back into AVFC culminating in our promotion and re-establishing ourselves back in the pl. Du Du Du Du Du Du...

I loved, and love, Hourihane. I hope he doesn't sign for Albion.

I liked watching him. I am aware of his weaknesses, but that thundercunt he smashed home against Albion in the play off semis was worth the price we paid for him alone.

Wish him all the best.

Pound for pound, a great signing. As was McGinn, even though I’m not his biggest fan now. Well done erm… Steve Bruce!!!???

Yep, Bruce brought in some really good players, some of them real bargains.

Signing Scott Hogan for £9m+ ruins the record a bit, though.

Agree with pretty much everyone here. A skilled but limited player who had some brilliant moments for us and never failed to put in a shift.

Compare him to someone like McCormack, and the gulf between good and bad signings can be mind-bendingly huge.

He always at least made sure his gates worked, did our Conor.
