Fair play to Bunn, that was as solid as I've seen him in a Villa shirt. A crucial win that could be the springboard for a great 2017.
I don't remember him making a save, but at least he was assertive cutting out crosses.
I thought Chester and Baker have become a quality partnership, and on top of that I was impressed with Hutton. Amavi had a typical game, enough speed to take risks and comfortably recover.. hope our back four can keep it up.
It looks like a no brainer that Bacuna has to be involved now. He has plenty of energy, is comfortable defending and has a bit of skill going forward. I think he would do okay in the middle of the park. From the off I thought he would do really well in a Bruce side, I'm surprised it's taken this long for him to be involved.
I was really disappointed with Ross. I don't see anything even remotely showing his ability in years past. No trickery, no short bursts or runs into space, he's not turning defenders.. Idk I'm just not convinced he feels like he has a big enough role here so he's not bothered.
On the other hand Kodjia and Adomah couldn't be more effective. Barring the missed pen, those two are loose cannons. They'll run by you, through you and around you. Love having them in the squad.
Still can't believe Gabby, Gary and Westwood have roles here. No offense to them but on a professional level I don't see what they bring. Hopefully January brings in some proper talent.
On the whole, I was very pleased with the first 35 minutes of the second hand.. and that was enough to take all three points.
Oh, and piss of Holloway.
