Definitely have Cleverley, our midfield has been pathetic for years - Since O'Neill left. Cleverley would be good at this level.

Cleverley and Lansbury is exactly the profile of player we need ahead of Jedinak. Especially with our attacking full-backs.

I think so too, but apparently he's off to Watford on loan.

Twitter rumours that Lambert is interested in Westwood, but Wolves need to sell before being in a position to buy.

We will take an IOU.

An IOU one gutless crab?  Nah, just leave him outside BH, someone will take him away.
Out of order that is.  he may not be a great player but he works hard and doesn't hide.  He doesn't deserve that type of rhetoric.

It isn't out of order. It's spot on. A gutless, hiding crab. Absolutely useless. He doesn't work hard. Those facts flying around after the Cardiff game leave him defenceless.

The stuff about him and Gardner only touching the ball 10 times between them turned out not to be true didn't they?

Oh right. From what I saw of that first half, it wasn't far off being right, however.

Well then we disagree.  I've watched Westwood and know his limitations, but not working hard isn't one of them, notwithstanding stats from 45 mins against Cardiff.  I just think it is unnecessary to use that sort of language against a player whose only real crime is not being good enough (although seemingly has enough quality for 5 managers to consistently pick him).

Disagreement is fine by me. I know you're a Westwood fan and I just can't see why. There is nothing to say to back him up in any way.

And the language used to 'abuse' this very poor footballer isn't really that bad in all fairness. At least compared to some of the abuse you see thrown around on pages like Twitter.

The five managers who have picked him, I'm not their greatest fans, either. I think Bruce has finally (hopefully seen the light).

Westwood is utter shite, and Cleverly is almost as bad.

I was a fan of Westwood at one time but he's so far off the form he once showed. Right now I couldn't argue against his detractors. He plays a role that is very much a thankless task (Petrov used to get a lot of criticism for that role too) so even if he was playing well, it most likely wouldn't be recognised.

I agree.  I also think there's a big difference between saying someone is a bit shit to calling them a spineless coward

Anyone got Westwood's win percentage over the last 4 seasons when he starts for us?

It must be horrific reading.

His time is long since up here...I'd just loan him out for the rest of the season.

Hardly spineless coward.  I didn't see the Cardiff game, but I have seen an awful lot of Westwood both here and at Crewe, and he works hard in a thankless job.  At both clubs he was surrounded by very average midfielders (Delph must be the best player he has been with over the past 7 seasons by miles, and he cant get a game), but what I have seen of him shows a hard working player that always looks for the ball, and wants to move it on.  Works hard without the ball too, which has been thankless at both Villa and Crewe as we seem to like the opposition to keep the ball.  Do I honestly think he is good enough for Villa, im struggling to say yes, however I cannot fault his work rate and attitude.

Agree with this.
I would add that I don't think he has progressed or learned to operate more effectively as a MF and that is why he doesn't make the grade: he appears to have reached the limit of his capabilities and this is not sufficient for us.

His form this season has been awful, I think all the problems from last year have ruined his confidence completely.
