In Nottingham market the substantial number of Forest fans consider they are getting the better of a Lansbury/Gardner swap deal.

Deal agreed, apparently, but there's trouble between current and new owners ..............Godzvilla!

"Henri Lansbury has agreed personal terms to join Aston Villa but the stumbling block is the potential new Nottingham Forest owners, according to a report.
The Sun claims a deal to sell the playmaker has been agreed by current owner Fawaz Al Hasawi but new American owners led by John Jay Moores, “have thrown a spanner in the works with advanced talks to sell Lansbury to local rivals Derby”.

Looks like Lansbury is pushing for move, he's "not in the right frame of mind" to play for Forest.

I hate it when players say that publicly. It's proper pish!

Would be chuffed with Lansbury. When he played against us at Villa Park I thought we should sign him then. He's got a lot of experience in this division, as captain, has played well with Gardner before and scores goals from midfield.

I don't know too much about him but I know he's very technically gifted from his time at Arsenal and their supporters were a little peeved when he left.

He's the right profile anyway. But then again, so was Elphick...

I'd still be after another CM. Hourihane is the obvious one, those two infront of Jed with 1 of Adomah/Jack and Kodj off a new goal-scoring, mobile front-man who can hold the ball up would be ideal. Add in a right-back who can get up the pitch and deliver a ball (Jenkinson?) and we'd be much better off.

Technically Lansbury is fine and has a decent goalscoring record from midfield which would be a big bonus for us.

Not sure he is the athlete we need in midfield but maybe Tshibola will be back in favour after his showing at Cardiff.

Bacuna despite his best efforts is not a centre midfielder at all really, Westwood and Gardner are both too slow and soft.

id prefer to see us getting back to three in the middle with Jedinak, Tshibola and a newbie, particularly away from home

It wouldn't be the first time an American has fucked us.

If a player doesn't want a transfer to a club then he doesn't have to move, so if Lansbury prefers Villa over Derby then surely the new owner can't do much about it?

If you read the whole story the present owner appears to be trying to explain to the potential new owner the rivalry that exists between Forest and Derby and how such a transfer will go down with the fans but the potential new owners aren't listening (now then where have we heard that before).  Apparently it is a potential takeover dealbreaker.  The manager of Forest has now said they have had a 'big, big offer' for Lansbury and that it is the manager who has said he isn't in the right frame of mind to play.

It's a brilliant deal for them. I would argue they are completely screwing us getting far the better player in the deal. Those shifty cunning bastards from Nottingham.

Sorry folks, have I missed something (been out most of the day)?  Is it a definite Gardner/Lansbury swap plus cash deal?

Pulis has said Craig Gardner would be allowed to leave (being linked on the BBC with the team he's always supported) apparently http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38530375
Sadly he's still better than anything we've currently got.

Apparently Blose are interested in taking him back from Baggies. Didn't Bruce have him at Sunderland?
