What about a bid for Leicester's Leonardo Ulloa? Seems a decent forward who scores a few goals...

Thanks Dave, I was aware that was imminent. He spent some time at Doncaster a few years back and the Rovers fans I spoke to about him were full of praise.

Was he the keeper linked to us in the summer, but Dr Xia dismissed it saying why develop players for other teams at the expense of Gollini?

Or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Leicester don't want to let him go even though WBA and Hull are interested says the BBC

There's a story in the Meaning Evil tonight saying that Bruce has now withdrawn Hepburn-Murphy from the squad on Sunday because he still hasn't signed his new contract.

Bruce sounds very peeved about it given that he included him against Cardiff as he had been informed he would sign.

Bruce to let Jedi leave to 'free up funds' according to Mirror.  Elphick could be off as well.  Westwood is being awarded a new four year contract.  Okay so I might have made that up.
If we let Elphick go we have no real cover for Baker or Chester. Richards is out of the picture (permanently hopefully) and Toner is not up to the mark
How do you know Toner is not up to the mark? May be he can provide some contrast to Baker's bold imprint?

If we get Lansbury and Ulloa, with Johnstone already added, then we have strengthened the spine fairly well.

I thought we had done that in the summer with Gollini,Elphick,Jedi and Kodjia/McCormack. Time will tell how they work out.

For me we still need another CM and right back, although with midfield I think we need to settle on if we are having a 2 or 3 man midfield. Jedinak as the deep lying central player with Lansbury and someone else in front would be pretty solid but also creative. In front of them Ulloa up top with Kodjia and Adomah/Grealish wide should be pretty special and get plenty of goals.

The midfield is a worry though as we already have Tish,Westwood and Gardner so will one of them leave (Westwood please!) to free up a move for one more.

This Lansbury chap we might sign, is he any good?

I haven't seen him play.

In the appearances he made for us last season I thought he played very well.

I was very surprised we let him go in the first place.

Forest fans were sad to see the back of Gardner so not sure how reliable a measure that is.

Would be chuffed with Lansbury. When he played against us at Villa Park I thought we should sign him then. He's got a lot of experience in this division, as captain, has played well with Gardner before and scores goals from midfield.

I don't know too much about him but I know he's very technically gifted from his time at Arsenal and their supporters were a little peeved when he left.

He's the right profile anyway. But then again, so was Elphick...

I'd still be after another CM. Hourihane is the obvious one, those two infront of Jed with 1 of Adomah/Jack and Kodj off a new goal-scoring, mobile front-man who can hold the ball up would be ideal. Add in a right-back who can get up the pitch and deliver a ball (Jenkinson?) and we'd be much better off.

The Times is saying that Leicester City are prepared to sell Jeff Schlupp , a player we have been linked with in the past, would be an excellent aquisition, IMO .   Only 23 , twice Young Player of the Year ,  Left Winger or Left Back, big, fast... (very fast !) and adaptable.  That said, he was,nt included in the Ghana squad for the ANC , maybe because of a lack of playing times at Leics.   Wonder if they might consider letting that young lad from Tamworth, Mark something-or-other , come on loan. ........................Godzvilla!

I like Schlupp but weren't Albion sniffing around. Unfortunately being mid-table in the Championship  means we'll miss out on this type of player more often than not.

I think it's a safe bet that Alex Bruce will come in for Elphick if he is let go.

Looks like Lansbury is pushing for move, he's "not in the right frame of mind" to play for Forest.
