Not going to be a queue around the block for Gabby is there? Presume Kozak will be given a free too.

In all likelihood, the relevant question about Gabby is what proportion of his wages we will be effectively paying once he has "gone".

If we're after Rhodes then I suspect we'd be after Brady, or a player like that, to give balance.

We desperately need legs. Everybody knows and can see this. Hourihane  (sp) from Barnsley would be ideal, Matty James has been linked; somebody who can drive the game on over thirty yards going back to front and stretch the opposition. Jedinak can't do it and neither can the others.

It's all being well signing a goal poacher like Rhodes, as that's all he is, he doesn't really contribute much to the all round team play, which is fine by me - however, we need to get more service, we can't just rely on Adomah...
I think we still need a good centre midfielder, a bit of a box-to-box type, a create player also. Right back and GK also needed.
It seems madness after the summer turnover of players that we still need quite a lot.

We will struggle to give Gabby and/or Kozak away. They're shot.

We don't need a Rhodes, do we? RHM should step up.
We need a couple of driving midfielders, a CB and a RB.
Andre Green can provide us with width.

Agreed don't see Rhodes working at all for us, especially for the money being quoted. We have spent enough on proven championship performers already with mixed results.

For the love of God buy some central midfielders that can win the ball and pass to a team mate and another who can play passes through the opposition. That's all we need surely. Bonus would be a CB. Leave the attack alone

I think Jedinak is better when sitting in front of the defence in a midfield three.  I agree that if we are going to persist with a midfield two then we might need two new signings in there.

I also agree that we need a natural wide player on the left.

If you look at the goal difference ours is 3 wheres the top two have 24 and 27 we need more goals, which is incredible when you look at the fire power we have.
The midfield needs more energy oh and goalscoring midfielders. We need a centre half to compete with Baker for his shirt Elphick hasn't worked out. Also an experienced keeper.

We've only scored 42 goals in 2016.

This. Our midfield recruitment this month is key to our play off chances.
I'm hoping that Hourihane is high up on our list

Rhodes 'story' today from Telegraph

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/12/29/aston-villa-keen-sign-jordan-rhodes-middlesbrough-not-11-million/

If it's true we want Rhodes, and it's true Boro want Gestede, a straight swap should be a realistic aim for both clubs.
