Given where we are, I think Long would be a good signing for the medium-term (2-3 years), let alone short-term.

Having considered this at great length, I concur: Long for the medium term, that is more or less the short and tall of it.

McCormacks problem is he came to Villa. We ruin (almost) everyone.
I know you say that in jest but when it comes to recruitment of seasoned pro's like RM it's their responsibility to deliver.

Nice piece about Hourihane here:

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11713/10668628/is-barnsleys-conor-hourihane-the-championships-star-player

That has him down as 3 goals and 4 assists by the end of Nov.  I believe he is up to 4 goals and 11 assists now.

I don't watch Barnsley all that much, maybe he is playing closer to a number 10 there than a regular midfielder. But when you see some of the spare parts who get a game in our midfield, it's a no brainer.

I wonder if he has a Hip Hip Hourihane chant

Tom ince from Derby all day long
He's someone that breaks forward good on the ball just what is missing from the midfield

Bombed badly at Hull under Bruce, no chance I'd say. Bit of a strange one Tom Ince, suspect off field issues have held his career back thus far. Has done well under McClaren and flying again now.

Did he? Thought they just got a mad offfer off Southampton and took it, doubled their money in no time.

Whatever we do in the January window I just hope we get a least two quality midfielders.

Three midfielders are required.

What's that Tom Huddlestone doing these days? He did alright for Hull last season didn't he?

Not sure. Sounds more like letting one of 6 strikers go to bring in a MF or DF
Would hope to God we can bring in an attacker this month also

Think you are mixing him up with Shane Long

Ince ended up at Derby from Hull

Blimey, in that case, let Fatty Agbonlahor go, keep Rudy!
