I believe Ayew has been trying his best, it's not working out at the moment. It did as recently as a few months ago, so it's hardly the same as Westwood or Agbonlahor who have been useless for half a decade.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Ayew has a bad attitude. If he did, he'd have already forced his way out of the club like Gana, Downing, Delph, etc.

Apart from when he lost the ball three times against wigan in injury time and couldnt be arsed trying to get it back

He looked plenty arsed in the first part of the season and most of last season, when the rest of his teammates couldn't give a tinker's cuss.

You see what you want to see, I guess.

This season though? There is a good player in there, if only he could be arsed.

I just don't see the "not arsed" thing. I see him unsure of where he needs to be and often running into rubbish areas. I don't see him not trying though.

Still think we should try him as a midfielder, not a winger or a forward. We are desperately short there and I feel the area would suit him.

Yesterday Beeb gossip said Palace and Boro were in for Rudy. Let the bargaining begin.

The club needs to issue rules to the squad on what is an acceptable demeanour for a player so as not to upset fans. Smile too much, fuck off Bacuna. Don't smile enough, fuck off Ayew.

This basically. Some people have an awful lot of strange rules about what is acceptable behaviour for a footballer.

Fair enough. I would like to see more out of him...as said there is a player in there who may bw able to turn it on for us. So far this season he hasn't IMO.

He's had a pretty serious knee injury and I'm not sure if he is even back playing yet.  Was good last season for them though.

Agreed. There needs to rules governing minimum and maximum smiles and frowns.

Best player on the pitch v Sheffield Wednesday away, Derby away, Forest and Newcastle at home and our biggest attacking threat in a whole host of other games up to November.

The type of player he is means that he won't necessarily provide the final pass before a goal or chance, but he will have opened up the space for us to get that chance in the first place.

That said, I would have expected more goals and assists.  His enthusiasm seems to have nosedived since about the time Flabby returned to the team. The manner of our relegation was bad enough. Letting a complete putz like that waddle back in the starting XI might indicate we are only playing at getting promotion. So I'd get his frustration, and if he's had offers, he could be distracted. But I'd still expect better.

I think it is fair to say we have to yet found the best positions for most of our attacking players yet.  I'm unsure whether that is players failing to follow instructions or the manager not identify their best positions or coaching them to adapt.  Grealish, McCormack, Ayew, even Kodjia all seem to fit in between the more traditional roles, and are arguably a bit too unorthodox for Bruce.

Seems a bit unfair to single Ayew out for this fault.  Mind you, thinking about it, the same conversation is taking place on most of the above player's threads.
