Just read Frank Lampard Jr is looking to leaving New York City for coaching role.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37978249

I think Steve Bruce should offer him a role at Villa Park as player coach role. Perhaps a possible no 2.

What do you think ?

An ex player with zero experience what could possibly go wrong?

I think Gollini gets unfairly judged based on that Huddersfield deflection, which could have ended up absolutely anywhere, the only two goals that I think were directly his fault were Barnsleys equaliser and the one at Bristol City were he palmed it into the path for there player to score, he's made some bloody good saves in most of our games.

The Huddersfield goal for me wasn't his fault. Elphick had so much time to clear it out.

I think he's got potential but we needed an experienced keeper in the summer. It seemed a strange decision at the time by Di Matteo to make a 21 year old keeper our number one. David Marshall at Cardiff now Hull would have been a good shout for me.

Young coming back to Villa would be no stranger than Downing going back to Middlesbrough last season.

Apart from the fact that Young is being selectd by Mourinho. No chance is this happening.

Half the 1st Division would be after him before us.
Keep this one up our sleeve for next season depending on what division we're in.

Just noticed a tweet linking us to former Frigg striker Ola Kamara, currently playing for Columbus Crew. Winter loan being mentioned.

Decent he's like kodja and upgrade on altidire  as we all now call him after his fall from grace

Midfield is definitely more of a priority, but I still think we could do with a centre forward, especially if we do get promoted.  The more I see of him, the mord I think that Kodjia is a wide forward, which only really leaves Gestede and Gabby as out and out centre forwards.

Think we need some cover at centre back as well - especially for Baker. When the inevitable injuries and suspensions kick in we've got Elphick to cover for Chester but with Clark leaving we've got no cover for Baker on the left. Difficult to sign anyone decent just for cover though.

Suppose we have Richards as cover when he gets back from injury.

Central midfield still looks like the weak spot, although losing Kodija and Ayew will be a blow. I take it Benin didn't qualify?

And just because it hasn't been mentioned in the last few posts, the one that has been floating around for years deserves a mention:

I think we could do with a new right back

Trouble is both Elphick and Richards are right footed and I'm a big fan of having a right footer on the right and left footer on the left for cover. Agree that  central midfield is the priority. Don't think he'll go for a right back - Bacuna has done well there and Hutton can cover until de Laet is back. And you're right - Benin didn't qualify so we still have Gestede but think he may go for a loan up top.

Weren't we linked with Jordan Rhodes the other day?

He's hardly playing at Boro so I'd say he's a near cert to drop down to the championship to play some games again.

Just wonder if he's a bit too much like McCormack...we sign him as he apparently guarantees goals....but we quickly realise we can't really fit into the team and so he loses confidence and stops scoring.

We've got enough squad options upfront. But it might mean changing the way we play. McCormack can't play in a three and I don't reckon gestede is great on his own.

How many games are they likely to miss?

They mentioned Kayal? last night, Brighton attacking midfielder.
