Have they sold out yet? It's a good job they did 'reduce' the capacity. I thought Birmingham was all Blues and we only drew support from the leafy suburbs?

I was once told, in all seriousness, that the reason we had such big crowds was because we all had cars...

Not only cars but gold plated cars, with chauffeurs.

West Midlands Police is encouraging Birmingham City and Aston Villa supporters to enjoy derby day and ensure it remains trouble-free this Sunday (30 October).

The eagerly-awaited game at St Andrews is the first league fixture between the clubs for more than five years.

A visible police presence will be in place in and around the ground as part of policing plans to ensure the safety of the public.

Match commander Chief Inspector Nick Rowe said: “It will be great to see two sets of passionate fans come along and enjoy the spectacle - and atmosphere - of a local derby.

“This is a great occasion and our role is to ensure a safe event for everyone who attends the game.

“The vast majority of supporters are well-behaved but there may be some who see the fixture as an excuse to cause trouble.

“We will not tolerate crime or violence which is connected to football. Anyone who is arrested for football-related matters may face the risk of a banning order which will prevent them from attending future fixtures.”

There will be a police and club search operation at the turnstiles including police sniffer dogs being deployed to ensure pyrotechnic devices such as flares and smoke bombs are not taken into the ground.

Officers have worked with both Birmingham City and Aston Villa in preparation for the fixture as well as speaking to representatives of supporter groups.

Following consultation with fans; away supporters will be held back in the ground for a brief period after the final whistle to assist the flow of people leaving the stadium.

I dreamt 3-1 to Villa.
Not a dream - a premonition.

Seriously, who was involved in the consultation with WMP? From previous experience, keep us in after the game is ridiculous.

I can't decide whether i'd start with Tshibola in the midfield making a 4 man midfield and over-running theirs like Burton did or start with Uncle Albert. The problem with starting with Adomah though is that you've not got anyone like him to come off the bench for the last 25 mins when they start to tire at the back. Maybe a compromise and start McCormack and have him sitting just in front of the midfield three. I reckon he'll go with Gestede though.

As much as I don't like starting Gestede I'd keep him in for this one as he has a ridiculous scoring record v SHA.

It will be imporant to have a physical presence aswell as I reckon they'll set out to kick us and see how we react. I too might have Adomah as sub as he's had a knock recently so they'd probably test that early on.

We need to get at their left...I see Robinson is in line to start for them at left back as their regular is suspended...he must be about 50 now?!

1-1, they'll get a jammy late goal after we miss a hatful of chances at 1 up.

Win in this one and we really could be cooking.  But I think it will be draw which wouldn't be a terrible result honestly.  1-1 Chester to get ours.

We just need to get the three points, wipe the shit off our shoes and get on with trying to get promoted. They really are a waste of time and energy and only serve the purpose of amusement at their utter stupidity. They may be our neighbours but they've never been our rivals, just the ugly cousin we see once every five or ten years when he gets released for the day. No wonder they're so excited, the rest of their life must be so fucking boring. Fucking sad stalkers.

Steve Bruce article in guardian:

Serious Q - will Bruce get a bad reception? I know they have a higher number than average of morons but surely they'll see that he did a good job for them.

"They'll have to do better than Potato Face." Brilliant, that.

Surprised they've not sold out their cup final.

How do you manage to fail to sell 23000 tickets when a city of 1 million supports you? A real head scratcher that.

Nearly as bigger mystery as where the extra 10,000 fans have come from. The Touchwood Centre will be quiet Sunday afternoon.
